Going to school 5 days a week, having to face people that judge you 24/7.
I'm currently in English with 10 minutes to go until summer break. I repeatedly tap the end of my pen on my crappy desk and every so often doodling little people with quotes.
My eyes keep switching back and forth from the board to the clock hoping that it would move by faster, and today will be over.
I need to get home before my older brother Luke and his annoying bandmates get back from school. Our parents are always on business trips and are barely home to spend any time with us. Which means Luke is in charge because he's my "responsible older brother". Yea.. OK. I guess going to parties and getting drunk is pretty responsible.
His friends hate me, all of them. They bully me to the point where I cry myself to sleep, but I'd never let them know that. I act as if I have a hard shell, but in reality its cracked. But I kind of allow it because I have a HUGE crush on the drummer, Ashton.
My thoughts are interrupted by the loud ring of the bell. I grab my books and quickly rush out of class.
"Celeste Hemmings, where are you trying to go in a hurry?" Ms. Smith yelled. "outta here! asap!" I chuckle and rush out of school.
My pink skirt ruffled in the air as I raced to the parking lot. I play 'I Spy' with myself trying to spot my black jeep. Found it. I run up to it and unlock the car and hopped in it as fast as I can.
Remember Celeste, No speeding.
I started my engine throwing my bag in the back, pulling out of the parking lot. Soon arriving home.
Thank the Lord Luke isn't here yet! I stopped the car in my designated parking spot and leaned over my seat, grabbing my bags. I open the door and rush upstairs and threw my bags on my bed and went back downstairs.
The sound of Luke's messed up engine disturbed my peace. ugh. I grab an apple and sit on a stool near my counter.
4 boys rush through the door.
"sup nerd" Calum says and flicks my head. "Says the Asian one.." I roll my eyes and fake a grin. He rolled his eyes back at me. Ashton laughed at my comment and Calum punched him in the gut, Ashton put his hand where Calum recently bruised and rubbed in pain.
"Celeste, go unlock the basement" luke says and throws the basement keys at me. "and if I don't?" I reply, tossing the keys back. Michael took the keys from Luke and hands them in my hand, "Celeste, don't be a bitch and just open the door" he says. I groan in annoyance and unlock the basement. The boys filed down there one by one and I closed the door behind them.
I unlocked my phone and dialed my best friend, Jocelyn. she picks up on the second ring.
"Jocelyn, kidnap me asap!"
"can't, grounded."
"when has that stopped you before?"
"point taken, see you soon. Let's get lunch."
"are you asking me on a date?" I smirk
"indeed I am, babe. be ready in 15. Go casual, don't wear that black tank that makes your boobs look small." I hear her laugh over the phone.
"thanks boo" I giggle and hang up.
I toss the apple in the trash and run upstairs. I lock my door and go to my wardrobe.
My parents are pretty rich but they're always gone so theres no family days.. or discipline.
I grab my white ruffle tank and my black mini skirt. I re-apply my mascara and eyeliner and topped my lips with more gloss. I checked my phone charge, 69%. I giggle at myself and grab my wallet and sunglasses.
I run down to the basement that is filled with music that's surprisingly not that bad. Ashton spots me and stops drumming and the rest of the band follows his gesture. "uh, I'm going out." I said. Luke nodded, "later loser. be back before dinner" i nodded back. Luke may be a jerk but atleast he cares about me sometimes. I race back up stairs and hear the music play again. I go into my livingroom to see Jocelyn waiting for me.
"Lets go before they come up here" she laughs. I smiled and we went outside, getting into her car.
"wanna go to the Café?" I say. "anything for my date" Jocelyn laughs and we head to the towns café. _________ a/n if you listen to "try hard" by 5SOS then that is what Celeste is by.
