Meanwhile, Flash and Deathstroke were roaming around the other side of the palace trying to figure out where to go. Deathstroke and Flash were trying to come with a plan to get back to the Justice League. More like a regroup but until then, they were both stuck with each other.
"So being the world's deadliest assassin, was is that like. Ya know having a reputation like that." Flash looked over at Slade to see what his reaction would be to such a question. Slade gazed over at the Flash with a hidden glare covered by his helmet then he just face the other way.
"You talk too much." He responded back irritably as they proceeded to walk forward, they both approached a small door that looked like an entrance to some secret room. "I think we should investigate what that room is. Could be something important. In fact with your speed, why don't you go do a little recon?" Flash rolled his eyes before he started to shake his body. Blue lightning formed over his body as his mere body became more like a blurred vision. He started to move his atoms at great speed, generating little sparks of blue lightning due to the charges his atoms emitted. Soon his body became slightly transparent before he stepped through the door to the other side. When Flash finally stopped vibrating his body, he saw a big burly man who wore a military like uniform. Flash's eyes widen and he spoke softly while watching the man operate a computer. Flash pressed the lightning bolt on the side of his helmet to speak.
"So, we got one guy in here who seems to be trying to authorize something. I am gonna let you in on 3.....1.....2.....3..." Flash hit the pad attached to the wall to open the door, Deathstroke walked inside which caught the guy's attention. The man known as Vandal Savage then smirked at him before he he folded his arms over his chest.
"So you finally found me? Well, you are already too late. I activated a rocketship carrying a bomb that will send humanity back to the stone age for me to rule. Darkseid thinks he will rule the earth but he couldn't be anymore wrong. To have someone like me, a homosapien outsmart him. How pathetic but if it wasn't for immortality I guess I wouldn't have gain such knowledge. I also activated Darkseid's world eater to blow up this planet, wiping everyone including you guys out for good! And you really think some assassin and speedster will stop me? How pathetic."
Red alarms started to go off as the speaker on the wall said. "Project stone age will commence ETA 5 minutes."
Deathstroke looked at Flash before he chuckled, he pulled out a sword and then he swung it around a few times. "Well, I guess we have a job, don't we?" Deathstroke told Flash who nodded, Vandal grabbed a plasma sword and then chuckled softly. Flash ran towards Vandal while Deathstroke disappeared and ran off to find a way to stop the bombs.
The Flash gave him, a right hook, then a left hook, before completing his combo withan uppercut. Vandal stumbled backwards thenhe swung the plasma sword towards the Flash. Flash bent backwards and made him miss barely by a few inches, the plasma sword sliced the column and made the column fall over. Vandal rolled out of the way and stood straight up then he got kicked by Flash straight in the chest. Vandal flew backwards before finally he watched the Flash's movements. He timed it correctly and when flash tried to punch him, Vandal quickly countered it and slashed at his thigh, leaving a deep cut in his leg.
"Agghh! Damn it!" He yelled as he went rolling across the ground and he hit the wall groaning. He was obviously in much pain since the plasma sword does a very immense amount of damage. Meanwhile, Deathstroke was long gone looking for a way to stop the bomb. As he was running around the halls, he stumbled upon a massuve hanger full of ships.
"Hmmm this may definitely come in handy." He told himself and then he looked around the hanger for some kind of manual to operate the ships. Anyways, the Flash slowly stood back up, grinding his teeth together and huffing quickly. He ran at Vandal but Vandal slashed at the Flash ribs, the speedster was running slightly slower than before.
"Don't you see? You can't win all the time hero." He laughed loudly and walked over to Flash to do the finishing blow. But Flash with all the strength he got stood up, he ran towards Vandal and slid in between his legs and jumped up doing a spinning kick to back. Then he ran grabbed Vandal by the collar of his uniform and ran to the wall. Slammed Savage against the wall then slammed him against the other side of the room before finally he punched him in the face a few times and tossed him onto the stairs. Vandal coughed out blood and weakly stared up at Flash before pressing a secret red button.
"Commencing launch now." The A.I. stated and then the room started to shake. Vandal laughed loudly as he coughed up more blood. Flash limped towards the computer and rolled his eyes.
"I won, you lost. Their is nothing you can...agh!" Flash interrupted him and took a deep breath as he tried to catch his breath.
"It's about time you shut up." Flash licked the blood off of his lip before he typed into the computer. His brain also operating at light speed. He was typing in all codes he could think of. Then he overrides the system, deactivating the bomb on Apokolips. But the bomb heading for Earth couldn't be override so he pressed the piece on his ear.
"We got a problem, I deactivated the bomb on Apokolips but the bomb heading for Earth won't let me override. You have any ideas?" He asked the assassin who grumbled then he sighed softly.
"I got one. Tell Rose I love her." He stated before getting inside one of the ships. Flash then looked around confused, he looked out the window and yelled.
"Deathstroke? What are you doing? Don't do this man, we can find a way!" He sounded panic and all of a sudden a ship flew out of the hanger towards a rocketship that was quickly leaving Apokolips. Flash watched like a kid who was witnessing something so tragic. Deathstroke smirked and he kicked back in his suit. Memories started to flash in his head, the day he was born. How he grew up. The first person he killed. The day Rose was born. He remembered everything and he chuckled softly.
"God, if you hear me now. Watch my daughter. Take me a burn me but watch my daughter. Today is the day I pay for my sins." Deathstroke closed his eyes and a single tear ran down his eye before he collided with the rocketship, setting off a massive glaring explosion and made the sky light up like a supernova exploded. As Deathstroke burned, becoming ash. He died with dignity, a smile on his face. He died a hero.
