Chapter 31

After hours of pushing, Amara Lynn Lopez made her debut into the world at 2:37 AM on February 25, 2020. Galina and Joe had come back with Colby's things and had been waiting in the waiting room since they got back.

"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs.Lopez. A beautiful healthy baby girl". You smiled sleepily and Colby kissed the top of your head and watched as they nurse cleaned the baby off. When she was leaned off, the nurse put her in your arms and she started to cry. You rocked slightly and got her to calm down a little bit and Colby started talking to her and she quieted down. After 10 minutes, the nurse took her for her exam and Colby went to get his bag from Joe and Galina and told them to go back to the house and sleep; the nurses weren't allowing visitors until 8 AM.

Colby went walking back into the room as the nurse was teaching you to nurse the baby. Colby slipped into the bathroom and changed into his jeans and Black and Brave T-Shirt and sneakers and walked back into the room and sat down beside you on the bed on your right side. You had Amara's head in the crook of your left arm and Colby put his left arm around you. Colby took the baby and laid her down in the hospital baby bed and changed her diaper and you fell asleep.

Around 8:30 AM, the nurse came in to check on all of you and left. You woke up about 15 minutes later to see Colby sitting in the hospital chair by your bed with Amara laying in his arms asleep. Colby heard you stirring and looked up. "Hey" "Hey.. How long have you been awake?" "About 30 minutes. She got fussy and needed her diaper changed". Just as he said that, she started to cry and he handed her to you and you nursed her. Once she was done, you swaddled her in the blanket and Colby went to call Joe and Galina.

Shortly after, Joe and Galina came walking in. They took turns holding her and Colby called your sister and said she was here. Colby's mom was sick so she wasn't coming. Your mom and dad were on a flight in from Connecticut. Around noon, Joe and Galina left and Stephanie and your parents came walking in with Shane. They all took turns holding her and when Stephanie handed you the baby, she said she wanted to take a picture of you and Colby with Amara. Colby sat down on your left side and held the baby with her head in his left elbow and you looped your left arm through Colby's right and laid your right hand on his. The two of you smiled brightly at the camera and Colby handed you the baby and went to the bathroom. You handed the baby to Stephanie and opened Instagram and posted the picture of you and Colby holding Amara and captioned it: "Amara Lynn Lopez made her debut into this world at 2:37 AM this morning. @wwerollins and I are so in love already. Our baby girl is healthy and beautiful and we couldn't be more happy. We'll post a picture of our beautiful girl soon, I promise". In the picture Stephanie took, you couldn't see the baby's face.

It was around 3 in the afternoon and your parents and siblings left one by one. Shane said he had to go so he could make SmackDown and kissed his new niece goodbye and congratulated the two of you and left. Stephanie did the same and left shortly after. Your mom hugged and kissed all 3 of you and said goodbye and went out into the hall and your dad bent down and kissed Amara and said "she's beautiful. I love you both. See you soon" and left with your mom. Before you knew it, it was just the 3 of you. Colby took the baby while you napped, but you snapped a picture of him holding her and all you could see from your angle was a pink beanie. You posted it and captioned it: "He's such a good dad already. I can't believe I was blessed with such an amazing husband. I love you, Colby". You locked your phone and took a nap.

When you woke up, Amara was in the baby bed and Colby was asleep on the window bed. The nurse came in and you put your finger up to your mouth to ask her to be quiet and pointed to Colby. "Hello, Mrs.Lopez. I'm just here to check your vitals and check on the baby. How are you two?" "We're great. She's feeding great" "The doctor said you can go home this evening" "Oh.. Uh.. Awesome". The nurse left and accidentally slammed the door and Colby jerked awake. "Everything okay?" "Yeah.. The nurse just left. Said we could go home this evening". Colby smiled and got up and joined you on the bed. The two of you watched TV for a little while and then the baby woke up. Colby got up and grabbed her and handed her to you and you fed her as Colby got your things together. Once she was done eating, you burped her and held her until Colby was done.

Around 5 PM, the nurse brought your discharge papers and you got dressed as Colby dressed the baby. You put on a pair of grey joggers and a white T-Shirt with your Nike slide on sandals and put your hair in a messy bun. Colby put the onesie and tutu on the baby and took a picture of her and sent it to your phone. You put the baby in the carseat as Colby posted the picture he sent you, the one of the 3 of you, and the one you took of him holding her and captioned it: "Amara Lynn made her debut at 2:37 AM on February 25, 2020. Rachael and I are so incredibly happy right now. I'm a dad!! I love my girls so much. Welcome to the world, Amara!". You posted only the one Colby sent you and said "Baby girl gets to go home today. Nervous, but so excited that we get to go home!". You were putting your phone in your purse when Colby stood beside you and handed you a tiny black box. "What's this?" "Just a little something for you. I heard that most men give their wives a little something after a baby's born". You smiled and opened the box and saw a simple diamond necklace. You thanked him and kissed him and he put the backpack on, threw the diaper bag over his shoulder, and grabbed the carseat and you grabbed your purse. You made your way down to the lobby of the hospital and you waited in the lobby while Colby pulled around the brand new white Ford Flex. You and Colby traded in your 2 door mustang and got the Flex. Colby still has his black Silverado.

Once Colby pulled the car up, you put your purse in the car as Colby put the carseat carefully in the car and made sure it was secure; he had put the diaper bag and backpack in when he went and got it.

At home, Colby took the carseat out of the car and genly set it on the table and you took the baby out and went and sat on the couch while he put the clothes from the backpack in the washer and unpacked the diaper bag in the nursery and joined you on the couch. The two of you sat on the couch cooing at your new baby. Colby took her from you and held her in his arms and you laid your head on his arm.

After about an hour, the baby was hungry so you fed her as Colby went and took a shower. You were in the middle of burping her when Colby came back downstairs in nothing but sweats and his hair down. He took her as you went to shower and when you came back, he was laying on his back on the couch with Amara on his chest and was rubbing her back gently. You walked over to him and saw that his eyes were closed. You bent over and kissed his forehead and he opened his eyes and smiled at you and sat up. You sat beside him and watched the baby. That's all you seemed to want to do. "Rach, it's almost 8, do you wanna go to bed? I'll put her to bed" "No, I'm okay. I wanna put her to bed". You and Colby got up and you followed him into the nursery and he laid her down in the crib and swaddled her in the blanket. You turned on the moon shaped night light and the two of you walked out of the nursery and cracked the door and went upstairs to your bedroom. You took off your sweatpants and climbed into bed and fell right asleep.

Around midnight, Amara woke up and you went downstairs to check on her. You checked her diaper and it was still dry so you fed her and burped her and she was still crying. A couple of minutes later, Colby came stumbling into the nursery and stood in the doorway with his arms crossed watching you. "Need help?" "Please". You handed the baby to Colby and he stood in front of you. "Sshhh, daddy's got you, you're okay, daddy's here". She immediately calmed down and started to fall asleep. When Colby was sure she was asleep, he laid her back down in the crib and the two of you quietly left the nursery and went back to bed. You were laying in bed with your head on Colby's chest. "You're so good with her" "You are too" "I'm not the one to get her to stop crying". He kissed your head and went back to sleep.

Around 7 AM, the baby started crying and you got up to go check on her. You fed her and burped her and rocked her back to sleep and went and laid down on the couch and fell back asleep. When you woke up, Colby had Amara in her swayer in the kitchen on the floor by the fridge (safe from the crackling bacon) and was cooking breakfast. You went upstairs and put on your sweatpants and went back downstairs and wrapped your arms around Colby. "What time is it?" "9 AM". He turned around and kissed you and went back to cooking breakfast. "How long have you been awake?" "About 30 minutes. I woke up and went to check on you and you were on the couch asleep so I let you sleep and went to check on the baby and she was awake so I checked her diaper and she was dry so I put her in her swing thingy and started breakfast" "You're the best.. You know that, right?". He smiled and kissed you and set your plate down on the table and the two of you ate. After you ate, you started the dishes and Colby put the baby in her swayer in the living room.
