"Elizabeth Specter aka sister of my good friend Polly Cooper", Cheryl suddenly greeted me friendly with her friends behind her, "You should come with us. Since you're Jason's date for the afterparty you're a special guest."

"I didn't know it's such a big thing", I wondered.

"It is! It's the first game of this season!", she exclaimed offended.

"Sorry, I'm just not used to that. I never went to a game in New York", I explained her and her friends.

"You didn't? But New York is the place to be for a good baseball game. My dad loves the Yankees", one of Cheryls friends started.

"What else did you do then?"

"I love sports, just never went to a baseball game. My dad is a basketball fan and my mom showed me how to play tennis."

"Well, then you're becoming a baseball fan today. Jason is the captain of the team so you need to like that if you want to be in his life", Cheryl told me.

"We're not going to be marry, Cheryl. Actually, we're not even dating yet. I'm sure it's not that serious."

"Everybody heard that, ladies?", she asked the cheerleaders when we arrived in their dressing room, "Polly, you still have a chance with my brother."

"Oh really? Maybe Jason and Polly become a couple again", I heard one of them whisper.

"They were so cute. At least better than that", Tina looked at me annoyed.

"Cheryl, what-", I wanted to ask her, but she stopped me.

"You heard me. Your beloved cousin Polly and Jason were a thing. So will you stop seeing him now? Or are you just going to hurt her over and over again?"

I didn't know what else to say, only looked at Polly and Cheryl disappointed before I stormed out of the room. How could I really think that she was going to be nice to me? But more important was the question why everyone lied to me. Why didn't they tell me? Especially Betty, Jason and Polly. I asked them about it and they didn't tell me. I can't be dating a boy that my family member is in love with. She must have been so sad to see that we were talking.

"You came to see me", I suddenly heard Jason's voice, looked up from the bottom to his eyes, "Hey, why are you crying?"

"Oh don't act like that! Cheryl was so nice to me until she told me that you and Polly were a couple in front of the cheerleader team! I asked you Jason, we talked about it. I can't believe you hurt her and lied to me!"
