(Get your tissues ready, I'm not sorry.)
TJ's POV
Ash rained from the sky like a grim snow, rubble covered the ground that was currently split into two sides from what I could see. A red haze filled the air, making it almost impossible to see clearly. My eyes stung like hell even though I was barley able to open them and I panted, struggling to get oxygen which would be completely normal if I was running a marathon but I was laying on the ground, barley moving and then it came to me... Where is Cyrus?
I stood up on the fragile remains of planet earth and looked around for any sight of my boyfriend but there was nothing.
"Cyrus?!" I called out before coughing uncontrollably due to inhaling the smoke filled air.
"Cyrus?! Baby, where are you?!" I called out again but this time louder.
A few second later I heard a response from a very scared familiar boy. "TJ?! Is that you?!"
"Yeah! Where are you?!" I replied, scanning my surroundings yet again.
"I need help! I'm falling down the crack!" He replied and not even a second after i sprinted to the crack in the earth that was only 30 metres in front of me.
I saw fingers gripping onto the edge, one of them had an engagement wring on.
"Don't worry angle, stay calm. I need you to try and grip onto the wall with your feet like when we went rock climbing on that date, remember?" I told him, trying to stay calm but my heart was pounding. I had to save him, this was my only chance.
"O-okay." Cyrus gulped and I grabbed onto his wrists as tight as I could practically holding his body weight.
"Tell me when you're on the rock climbing bricks, okay?" I instructed seriously.
"I-I'm on them." He stuttered, his voice blatantly filled with fear.
"Okay, good boy. Now I'm going to count to three and on three I need you to push down on the climbing rocks as hard as you can, as if you are standing up and I will pull you up. Are you ready?" I asked, beginning to panic severely but pushing it aside due to the life or death situation.
"Ready when you are and just in case this goes horribly wrong, I love you with all of my heart and I'll see you when your time comes." Cyrus told me.
"I love you so much baby boy, remember that. Ready?" I replied.
"Ready." Cyrus said determinedly.
"Okay." I let out a breath before getting ready to pull.
"1...2...3!" I pulled him up on three, using all of the strength I had in my body and pulled him away from the edge and held him close to me.
"I've got you Babyboy, you're safe now." I soothed as he sobbed into my chest.
"I -I love you so much, Teej." He cried into my chest.
"I love you too Baby bear." I replied truthfully.
Cyrus stood on his tippy toes and kissed me with all of the passion he had and I kissed back as I shed a tear of relief. Two minutes ago, he could have been gone forever.
We pulled away breathlessly when we heard a slight crack.
"What was that?!" We said in unison, panicking.
We felt a slight movement underneath our feet and suddenly Cyrus fell out of my grasp and I failed to latch onto him.
"I love you!" He called once he realised that this was his end.
"Cyrus!" I called but the hole in the earth was so deep that there was no sign of my fiancé . He was gone.
"Cyrus!" I cried again.
"Cyrus!" I fell to my knees and sobbed uncontrollably.
He was gone. My baby was gone. My future husband, my angel, my absolute everything was gone with in a split second.
"Chocolate, Chocolate chip muffin, right?" He nodded. "Scary basketball guy." He motioned to me. "Actually, TJ." I told him with a slight smile. "I know, Cyrus."
"Hey, Not so scary basketball guy!" A familiar voice called and my stomach suddenly erupted with a herd of butterflies. "Hey, Underdog! What's Up?" I asked, strolling over to him.
"You can be a little annoying you know that?" I frowned. "Well you can be oblivious." He shot back. "Well you can be very judgy." I said. "You can be intimidating." He replied. "You know what else you are?" I asked, stepping closer to him. "What?" He questioned. "The only person I can talk to like this." I smiled and he blushed a little. "Okay if I stay?"
"TJ? what are you doing here?" Cyrus asked, standing up from his swing. "I-I need to tell you something, you deserve an explanation." I sighed. "I don't want an explanation. You like Kira and that's why you wanted to do a costume with her, I'm not stupid." He replied. "I don't like Kira, not even as a friend." I said truthfully. "Then what the heck were you doing with her after the basketball game on Friday?" Cyrus snapped. "It wasn't what it looked like." I defended. "I don't get how you kissing her can look like anything else. You're confusing me." He frowned. "I'm confusing me too." I bit my lip to stop myself from crying. "I'm not surprised. You say you don't like her but you were practically eating her face the other day, you constantly hang around her, do whatever she asks you to do and you chose to do a costume with her instead of me. I'm not an expert but I know that you don't do those things with someone you don't like." Cyrus ranted. "Cyrus, I'm serious I don't like her. In fact I actually hate her." I spat. "That's not what it seemed like." Cyrus raised his eyebrows, not believing a word that I was saying. "I have reasons to hate her." I stated. "What reasons?" Cyrus rolled his eyes. "She manipulated me into doing the costume with her. She black mails me into doing what ever she want me to do. She forced me to kiss her and threatened to tell everyone my secret if I didn't." I told him. "TJ, your dyscalculia isn't much of a secret and you don't need to hide it." Cyrus replied. "This isn't about my dyscalculia. It's about something completely different." I sighed. "What's it about then? Let me guess, she beat you in basketball and you still want to keep your reputation." He sassed. "Can you just stop being snappy at me for a couple seconds and let me say what I need to say!" I shouted. "Fine, go ahead." He crossed his arms. "You have to promise me, you won't tell anyone. It's serious." I said. "Fine, I promise." He sighed. "I-um I-I-I'm gay and she somehow found out, that's what she's blackmailing me with." I explained. "Wait- what? But you're like the straightest guy in our grade." He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Obviously not." I replied. "Anyway, I'll leave you to it. I just thought you deserved an explanation." I told him before walking away. "TJ!" He stopped me. "Yeah?" I asked, turning around. "Me too." He said. "Huh?" I raised my eyebrows. "I-I'm gay too." He said.
"TJ, I really like you." Cyrus told me confidently as we sat close on the bench. "I really like you too." I smiled. He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers.
"Cyrus Goodman, will you do me the honour of becoming my future husband?" I asked, getting down on one knee and holding a wring out. "I'd love to be." He answered, tears streaming out of his eyes. I slipped the wring onto his finger and got up before wrapping my arms around him. "I love you." "I love you too."
All of that, all of him, gone.
