"Cassidy, how've you been? Avoiding me I assume." I grabbed Chase's arm,, which was pretty tense. I'm sure he didn't know what was going on at all. "Cat got your tongue?" Chris asked when I didn't say anything. I didn't respond, and he laughed. "You have that client of ours with you I see." Chris turned his gaze to Chase who tensed even more with Chris's eyes on him.
"What do you want?" Chase asked, stepping forward defensively.
"Her. She betrayed us by helping you actually. So I want both of you." Chris and his stupid big mouth! Chase couldn't know about the other night. I had to stop Chris from talking before he said anything else. I let go of Chase's arm.
"Chase, let's just run, ok?" I whispered up to him. He looked at me for a few seconds and then back at Chris without answering. I looked back at Chris as well. Here we go. If Chase wasn't going to do anything, then I was going to, even if it was stupid and possibly life-threatening. I took off running at an angle to dodge Chris and make it harder for him to catch me, but I completely forgot about the other two guys that were with him. One tackled me to the ground and I hit the soft earth face first. Even though it was muddy and squishy, it still hurt. I didn't have a chance to pull myself up before the guy started dragging me by my legs through the mud. "Let me go you bastard!" I screamed at him. He stopped walking and dropped the lower half of my body which my back completely absorbed.
"You know Cassidy I never thought you would betray us." He told me. "But, I was wrong. Chris said not to torture you or anything, and I wasn't until you called me a bastard." He bent down and grabbed my hoodie pulling me up into a standing position. I was surprised to see that it was Jason. He and had been close at one point.
I braced myself for a punch to the face when I heard Jason let out a groan. I opened my eyes and saw Jason sprawled out on the ground and Chase standing above him. Chase turned towards me when he was satisfied that Jason wasn't getting back up and said, "Run." I turned on my heels to run in the direction of his car but Chris was in my path. I didn't have enough reaction time to get out his way and ran right into him. Chris laughed.
"That was too easy." He then turned me around and I saw Chase fighting with the other guy. They were pretty evenly matched. "Well, while they're distracted, I'm gonna take you."
"Chris! You're only a teenager! You shouldn't be doing this! Ow!" he twisted my arm as he lifted me up and threw me over his shoulder. My ribs landed on his shoulder blade uncomfortably and I let out a whimper. "Chase!" I screamed over and over again as Chris got further and further away from the two that were fighting. Trying to get out of his hold was impossible, so I stopped trying. Not too long passed before he dropped me onto the ground. I wasn't expecting him to do that, so I rolled back and hit my head on the ground. I felt like that would've caused a concussion. I looked around to see where we were, and noticed we were back at our school.
"If you're going to kill me, just get it over with."
"That's no fun." Chris stated with a smile. "I'll figure something out for you."
"If you aren't going to do it now then leave me alone!" Chris's smile vanished and he kneeled down to my level.
"And just who do you think you're talking to?" I was surprised with a stinging back slap to the face. Without thinking I pounced onto him and punched him in the face with all my might. He yelled out loud and threw me off of him in one stride and stood up, grabbing me by my ponytail. It hurt so bad I couldn't stop the tears from spilling out; not that anyone could tell because it was raining. He punched me in my stomach causing me to gag and did it a second time before slamming me into something hard. My head bounced off of it whatever it was, and instantly my head started pounding. I reached out to claw his face, but he kept my hands down by pressing his body against mine. I let out a scream and he punched me in the mouth. "Shut up!" he yelled. I started crying, but I didn't make any more noise. I didn't want him to hit me anymore. He smiled, realizing that I had just listened to him. I felt something hit my head suddenly and everything started getting fuzzy with the world around me spinning. Then everything just went black.
