Monday 7:45am

As I was walking to school, I spotted Dylan being dropped of.

"Hey Dylan" I said "How was your weekend?"

"It was alright, did we have math homework?" He asked as we entered the schoool.

"No I don't think so. Or at least I didn't do anything haha"

"Well we will find out" he said, as we both walked into Mr. Anderson's classroom.

"Oh by the way" I added "You still need to meet Laurel, she's like the 'leader' of the group per se.

"Uh....sure ok, maybe after school?"

"Sounds good, you can meet everyone else whose in the group as well" I replied.

"How many people is that?"

"Uh well....We've got Laurel and Jeffrey, Maya and Sam, Sarah and Brandon, Allison and Michael, so eight people....?"

"Uh that sounds like a lot of people to meet in one day" He said nervously.

Dylan sort of reminded me of myself. We both were a little more on the shy side.

"Nah, you'll be fine" I said quickly, as I tried to reassure him. "I'll see you after school then!"

"We have physics together, remember?"

"Oh...right haha yeah" For some reason I almost forgot that we had physics together, he sits behind me but is so quiet ninety-percent of the time, that I barely notice his presence.

Lunch 11:40am

When I sat down next to Laurel, she was already rambling on about plans for homecoming. She's like a nonstop machine, when it comes to things she gets excited about.

"Hey Bri, how do you like the idea of us getting together before hand and hanging out for the day, we can go bowling or something? What do you think?"

"Or us girls could meet up at six o' clock, get ready together, the guys could come at around seven, and you "coupley" people can do that thing with the flowers."

"....They're called corsages, and boutonnieres, its french I'm pretty sure. And you don't like the idea of having like a day activity? Come on, I think it will be a lot of fun, I already ran the idea by Jeffrey and everyone else!"

"Except Dylan and I" I thought to myself.

"Uh I don't think the day activity is necessary. by the way, how do you know Jeffrey is ok with being in our group? I thought he was too popular to hang out with any of us anymore?"

"Fine, that would be a lot to plan anyways. He said that he'd rather spend the night with me...Isn't that sweet"

"Yeah....or he just wants to bang " I said laughing, I couldn't help but to polk fun at her.

Laurel just started at me, with a look of "disaproval"

"He's not like that, I don't know why you think that" she said bitterly.

"Alright sorry! I was just wondering" I replied, in hopes of callming her annoyance at me. "So..." I countinued. "I told Dylan that you would meet him after school, and all the others in the group"

"I can meet him, he can meet the others later" She said.

"Uh ok sure, I'll see you after school"

3:00pm

When class was over, I rushed to the front, finding Dylan standing alone as usual.

"Hey!" I said

"Hi Brianne" he replied, taking out his headphones. "So where is everyone?"

"Oh yea, you'll meet the others later, Laurel should be on her way over here." Just as I said that Laurel popped up behind me.

"Hey! You must be Dylan! I'm Laurel!" She said extending her hand to shake his.

"Hi yeah, so whats the plan for homecoming?"

"Well Bri and I decided that the girls will meet up at around six and get ready together, then you boys don't need to be over until around 7. Bring something to share for dinner, it's a potluck and they we will just carpool over to the dance"

"Sounds good" Dylan responded "What about the after party? I could host if you needed anyone?"

I was surprised that Dylan was able to speak with so much ease as he conversed with Laurel. Probably cause she's attractive and amazing at socializing.

"That'd be awesome! I'll add you to the facebook group tonight!" Laurel exclaimed.

"Ok! Well I have to go, my  mom is here, see you guys later!" Dylan said as he ran out the parking lot.

"He's sort of cute don't you think?"

I hesitated for a moment "Uh....sure I guess so? I mean he seems like a nice person, and I just met him..."

"Yea but still. No harm in noticing these things. I'll post somethings and plans on the facebook group tonight! See you tomorrow Bri!"

"Bye!"

                                                        **************

Only one more week until homecoming. I had everything planned, what dress I am planning to wear, what food I will bring, and that was it. Laurel told me not to worry about anything else, so I wasn't. I was sitting at my desk working on physics when my phone buzzed.

Dylan: Hey Brianne!

Me: Hey what's up?

Dylan: What color is your dress?

Me: White, why?

Dylan: Laurel said that I need to get you a corsage, it's apperantly tradition to get them for your date...?

Me: Uh what? You know you and I aren't actually "dates" right?

"This is crazy" I thought, "Dylan and I aren't dates, I barely know him. She just wanted an even number of people in the group, and didn't want me to feel left out. And so that I could have someone to stand next to in the group picture"

Dylan: Yeah, I know It's just that Laurel kept "reminding" me to get you one, and how she wants everyone to have one, and look uniform or some crazy shit. Any preference on color? I'm ordering yours now.

Me: Wait are you and I actually going to do that....? The whole "flower" thing? I thought Laurel was joking when I talked to her last week.

For some reason I was still a bit confused on why I needed a flower, if we aren't actually "dates".

Dylan: No she wasn't joking....ok I'll just go with Yellow, you're not being very receptive :P It's a happy color.

"Yellow? What the fuck" I thought.

Me: Uh sure why not, I really don't care.

Dylan: Ok talk to you later :)

Ok To Do: Order Dylan a stupid man-flower.
