March 2012

When track and field started, everyday was filled with running and extrenuous exercise. But it was worth while because Dylan and I were in the same events. He was super encouraging and always told me to run faster.

One day after practice I was sitting on the bleachers with Serena.

"Can I ask you a question?" Serena asked

"Sure" I said

"Do you like Dylan, like do you have a thing for him?"

"haha whoa no!" I laughed "We're only friends, and that's probably all we will ever be, why you interested?"

"No. And I was just wondering because there are some rumors going around about you and Dylan"

"What rumors?"

"Oh that you hooked up and what not"

"Haha well those are completely false, I haven't even had my first kiss yet!"

"Really?! Huh..."

I just sat there "Uh, Yeah why do you sound so surprised?"

"Oh I don't know....Oh look my moms here! I'll catch you later!" Serena waved bye, and sprinted to her mom.

It was only moments until Dylan came and sat down with me.

"Hey you know Serena asked me if I liked you, she says there are rumors going on about you and me" blurted out

"Yeah she asked me too" he replied "But it's ok don't worry I only see you as my friend"

"Good same goes for you!" I said with a smile.

"But just don't fall for me"

"haha what?" I said "ew no I won't, you better not fall for me!"

"Oh 'Ew' wow I'm hurt Bri!" he said, clutching his chest pretending to be in pain.

"you're such a drama queen!" I said laughing!

"My moms here, do you want a ride home?"

"Sure" I said and followed him to his car.

The next few weeks were began to get busier. Every Thursday we had a track meet, and I wouldn't get home until 8 or 9 pm sometimes. But it was worth it. I sat with Dylan on the bus rides when we had away meets, and we listened to music and talked and joked around with our other team mates.

Relay for Life was slowly approaching, and it was the only week where we didn't have a Saturday meet.

"Are you going to Relay?" I asked Dylan one afternoon

"yea I'm in Jessica's group, you?"

"What? Isn't Laurel in that group? You didn't tell me you signed up. Don't people start fundraising in like October?"

"Uhm....yeah, Sorry I didn't tell you. I honestly thought I did"

"When did Jessica ask you?" I was a little jealous that Laurel was in that group. And wondered why he had waited so long to tell me.

"A few months ago. Laurel was added to the group later, along with some of our track friends like Serena and Ryan.

"Oh" I said "Have fun!" I really did want him to have fun. But I began to feel like a total loner. No one had invited me to be in their group.
