chapter 6- The awakening

You flutter your eyes open. Bright light mixed with darkness fills in your vision. You blink, allowing your eyes to finally adjust. You immediately notice your in a dusty old basement. Darkness completely surrounds you all expect for some moonlight shining through a window which shines down on you like a spot light.

You try to move your arms, but you can't. You can hear metal chains rattling. You tilt your head to see your handcuffed to the wall. You roll your eyes and bite into your lip.

Suddenly, the basement door opens. Someone makes their way down the steps and right toward you.

Ethan

Ethan steps into the light. He smirks at you while tilting your chin upward.

"Morning, sunshine." He says.

"Where I am?" You ask, looking around.

"in a basement." He replies while fishing a key out of his leather jacket pocket.

"I know that." You snap. He smirks turns into a playful smile.

"I see you still have some fight in ya," he takes your chin and makes you lock eyes with him.

"I really do like that." He finishes his sentence and places the key in one of the handcuff locks.

"If I let you down, you'll behave and not run away,right."

"Like heck. I don't trust you, anymore." You nod your head. He unlocks it. You hand atuomatically goes limp next to your side. He unlocks your other hand and you fall forward because, your arms and legs are numb.

Ethan catches you. He wraps his arm around your waist and picks you up. Then, he carries you up the steps and out of the basement. He closes the door with his foot behind him and heads down a hall.

Kou

Kou steps into the light. He playfully smirks at you while taking in the sight of you.

"Kou?"

"in the flesh."

"Did you do this to me?"

"No."

"Then, who did?" He taps the tip of your nose with his index finger.

"You'll find that out soon enough." He replies. He fishes a key out of his short's pocket. He unlocks the handcuffs. You fall forward because, your limps are numb. Kou catches you and carries up the stairs and down a hall.

Cole

Cole steps into the light. He frowns at you as he looks at your tiny frame.

"Cole? Why?" You ask, tears clouding your eyes.

"I'm really sorry, (y/n). I didn't want to go down like this." He says while fishing a key out of his jacket pocket. He unlocks the handcuffs. You fall forward and he catches you by one of your shoulders.

"I am really sorry. I'm doing this to protect you." He mumbles while wrapping an arm around your waist. You let a tear roll down your cheeks as he picks you up bridal style and carries you up the stairs. He takes a left turn and heads down a narrow hallway.
