Neerja felt completed as a new woman, her hair parted was now filled with vermillion. Everything was felt like a dream for her. The condition wasn't much different for Sameer. After signing in their registers, the newly wedded couple visited temple. Sameer felt relieved in his mind. Now he has some one to say as his closed one in this world.
"Finally , goodbye to old life. Welcome to new dreams and hopes."
Neerja entered his apartment with a lighted lamp in her hand. Most of the neighbours looked at them with awe. But they didn't come much since Sameer was there with her. Very a few residents were occupied in their flat at a cheap rate.
Once Sameer left to his work, several neighbours flocked to the apartment. Ladies were blown away by the beauty who has finally graced Sameer's life. "Your skin is so flawless! ", an elderly lady pat her cheek. Their husbands who graced the apartment with their ladies, couldn't take away their eyes from the beauty who is standing in front of them. "Hi, nice to meet you", an old man extended his hand towards her. Neerja was disgusted with the look of men those were drooling at her. "Namaste ji", she folded her hands and greeted them.
Neerja felt too much suffocated when the hours have been passing on. Their comments on Sameer for being introvert , rude and an anti social. He never mingled with them. "Never be like him", said Indrani their landlady. "We always hold several parties and you should take care of it". Neerja kept mum. Silently she was praying God for Sameer's arrival.
The commotion finally come to an end, once the tall stature of Sameer approached them. They didn't speak a word to him. They hung their heads and departed from the place. Sameer kept his bag and things in the shelf. He was looked disturbed when he was surrounded by the crowd.
"Why did they come? ", Sameer asked in a stern voice. "They just wanted to say hello. Just an introduction." Neerja passed a cup of black tea to him. "I still couldn't understand why are they still hanging out in other residents apartments. Don't they have any other business!?", Sameer looked restless.
"Whatever be it. I feel you should resume your studies and work rather than sitting idle at home", he said. Neerja nodded her head. She felt Sameer's face was immersed on her shoulder.
