Aunt Jessica

I woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon and pancakes. Mat had slept on the couch. I felt bad that I hadn't offered him a blanket or something. I followed the smell, and was greeted by a plate of food.
"Thanks." I said threw a mouth full of food.
"No problem, baby" Mat said smiling at me, "though you might want to actually taste the food"
I replied by shooting him the bird.
"The social worker is suppose to be coming today." I said quietly. I hear a door open and see Danny come from the hallway. He grabs a plate and starts back to his room.
"Danny wait! Please stay out here with us." I pleaded it's been days since I had spent some time with him. He paused for a long time, and I was getting sad that he would go. But then he nodded and sat by me.
" I'm sorry for how I've treated you lately." Danny said. I quickly replied,
"It's not your fault, you were hurt. I understand." I was relieved that he was talking to me again. The doorbell rang, and I saw Mat get up to answer it.
" Hello! I'm Rosie. Are you Danny?" A high pitched voice asked.
"Umm no, I'm a friend of his. Their in the kitchen" Mat replied. I almost laughed at how uncomfortable he sounded until I saw her... My aunt.
"Hi Danny! I was just talking to your friend! hey Allexia. I hope both if you are doing okay. look who came to see you!! Your dear aunt Jessica! " She said in that stupid voice.
But I was paying more attention to the woman who walked into the room... God, she looked just like my mother. so much that it was starting to hurt.
"My, how much the two of you have grown." Jessica said. She was wearing a red dress with black tights under it with her brown hair in a pony tail...
Just like my mother use to wear...
I refused to say anything. Just waiting for a chance to run and hide in my room.
An hour out of my life later, Rosie said, "well I better go. but your auntie is gonna stay with you! isn't that cool! bye now!!".
And with that she was gone. I could feel my aunts eyes on me. Watching. Waiting for me to say anything.
" Well I better go Danny, see ya around?" Mat sounded nervous. And I smiled at him threw my eye lashes.
"Bye Mat. Thanks for visiting Danny"
"No problem" he replied giving me a cute smile and a wink.
Then I remembered my aunt... A little too late as she was looking between us. Crap.
" Your more that a friend, aren't you?" she said and we both went red and Danny decided to go scarce. Coward.
"Yes ma'am?" Mat said in more of a question than anything else.
"Do I need to clean my shot gun out in front of you?" She asked
"No ma'am"
"Good lad. Now get going" and he left just like that.

Nice to see that he had my back. I sent my aunt a nasty glare as I stalked off to my room. And I just laid there looking up at my ceiling.
