Pebble after pebble, teardrop after teardrop, second after second, the Leonin waited, waited for the nightmare to end, but it never did.
Recently, news had reached the Leonin that Nana got into a relationship, and it wasn't him. She was dating someone that wasn't him nor Harley.
He hoped their relationship wouldn't last long, but he could see through her eyes, he could see by they way they acted around each other, that there would be no way they could be separated.
All of his hard work to try and be enough for her. Gone. All those years of effort, fighting Harley for her affection. Gone.
"She could have at least chosen Harley." Harith says through gritted teeth, "At least I would be assured that she's in great hands and went to someone who deserved her love. But no, it had to be someone we never even heard about."
"Screw everything!" Harith yelled, throwing the last pebble on land into the water, kicking gravel into the water alone with it, "Why is it so unfair?!"
Harith then knelt down, and started clawing at the water, anger rushing through him, "It's not fair!!" He yelled, letting all his rage out on the innocent pond.
This continued for who knows how long, Harith just letting out all his anger, and an unrevealed figure just watching nearby.
"Wow, that Leonin sure would make a great Hulk." The figure mutters to himself, stepping out of the shadows, "So will you continue to mope over a girl who never even returned your feelings, or will you continue through a different path in your life?" He said out loud.
This caused the Leonin to stop whatever he was doing, breathing heavily, he turned his head to the source of the voice, "Harley...." He growled, "I don't need your presence right now." He snapped.
"Typically pissed of leopard boy." Harley scoffed, rolling his eyes, crossing his arms and leaning on a tree.
"What do you want?" Harith's glare pierced through Harley's head, making him a little nervous. Just a little.
"Just making sure you don't take the Nana situation too seriously, I'm honestly just concerned for the wellbeing of Land of Dawn. Who knows, you could blow up our home for all we know." Harley shrugged.
Harith hissed at him in a catlike manner, but said nothing otherwise, turning his back against the magician and proceeding to sulk in his self pity.
"You know... I was just like you a few days ago... I even came to the point where I started getting involved in alcohol, I know I'm underaged, but it was like my life was completely ruined."
"But then my sister came and gave me a little pep talk, I was stubborn at first, but she continued to point out the truth. Nana is her own self, she belongs to herself and no one else, she never actually returned any of our feelings, so we have no right to get angry at her."
"All along, she only saw as a friend, yes, she was aware of how we felt for her, but we were both stuck in the friendzone."
"Look, I'm not good with words, but what I'm trying to say is... Get over it, move on." Harley finished, watching the Leonin not move an inch from his mini lecture.
"It's hard you know?" Harith let out a soft voice, "I actually loved her. I know you also did, but I don't know... I just feel really depressed after all this." He sniffed, he then again started to cry.
Harley sighed and sat next to the boy, rubbing his back comfortingly, "I'll let you cry until you realize the truth, need a shoulder to cry on?"
Harith simply nodded his head and accepted the offer. Harley's shoulder was current it being damped due to a certain Leonin, but he didn't seem to mind. This concerned Harith.
"Why are you being so nice and gentle to me all of sudden?" Harith rasped out.
"Why not? I don't have a reason to hate you anymore, now, do I?" Harley chuckled, "Unless you wanna go find another girl to fight over and have events repeat once more?" He joked.
"Nah, I'm done with this love stuff." Harith replied, his sobs began to fade away as he proceeded to compose himself, "I'll go focus on building friendships now."
"Best idea you've had in a while, Leopard boy." Harley smirked, "Wanna go prank Nana and her oh-so-perfect boyfriend?"
"Sure. Let me clean myself up first."
"Yeah, you look like a heartbroken teenage girl who got played by a playboy."
"Shut up."

"Oy! Hurry up! The tournament is about to begin! I won't hesitate to leave you behind!" A really irritated voice came, followed by loud knocking on the door of a certain Leonin.
Harith immediately shot up from his sleep, "Tour...na..ment?" He yawned as he tried to process what was happening, "Oh... RIGHT! THE TOURNAMENT!" Harith shrieked as he started to run around the house, getting ready as quick as possible.
In about 5 minutes, he opened he door, all ready, but sweating with heavy breathing, "Sorry, I overslept." Harith apologized, scratching his neck as he looked at the ticked off Harley.
"You always oversleep." Harley huffed. Boy, did he look pissed, "Hurry now, or we'll be late."
"Sorry." Harith muttered one more time, his cheeks flaring up from embarrassment, Harley raised an eyebrow at this, but shrugged it off as the effect of running around without rest.
An awkward silence overtook they atmosphere as both teens walked towards the arena in pure silence. Neither had any motivation to speak, thus the silence we have now.
"Soo..." Harley finally mustered up after a good 10 minutes, "Any girl caught your attention?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Why do you ask?" Harith eyed him, "Most importantly, why do you ask this nearly every day?"
"Just wondering." Harley shrugged, "And to think someone like you would have a girlfriend by now."
"Back at you." Harith says, "You always brag about being the most handsome, but where's your proof to back you up?"
Harley sent a glare his way, huffed, and looked the other way, "I had a big ego back then, okay? I'm starting to doubt myself now..."
"Sorry, didn't mean to offend you." Harith quickly replied, worried he might have hurt Harley a little, guilt creeping in.
"It's alright." Harley shrugged, "Just for hit in the face with reality. Hard. Seriously though, anyone?"
"Nope." Harith rolled his eyes, "Why are you so desperate? Want to steal my crush from me or something?"
"No." Harley grunted, biting his lip, still avoiding his gaze, "Just wondering."
They soon reached a small alleyway, don't ask their choice of routes, this was the easier way to the arena.
"Are you sure you don't like anyone? You seem to be dozing off quite a lot these days, staring off into space with a dreamy look on your..." Harley mutters .
Harith smirked at him, "Do you have a crush on me or something? You seem a little bit too curious for a normal friend to be."
"N-no!" Harley immediately replied, his face heating up, "W-why would anyone like you?!"
'Why is he blushing? Does he-? No, impossible!' Harith thought, his eyes widening at all the theories rushing in his brain, his own cheeks heating up in the process.
Just by one sentence, Harith had turned both boys into a blushing mess.
"S-sorry for asking." Harith says, biting the inside of his cheek as he tried to stop his cheeks from heating up, "Well... I guess there is some one."
Harley's face immediately switched to a poker face, "And who would that be?"
Harith took a deep breath, it was now or never.
He quickly pinned Harley to a wall, leaving barely any space between their faces as he looked at him with a smirk, a surprised and flustered look on Harley's face.
"You."
