I'M SORRY. I REALLY HATE THIS PART TOO BECAUSE I FORGOT HOW TO WRITE.

His shoulder exploded with blood. Helcurt look down at his own body, confused as the sudden surge of pen. It took him a few seconds to realize a bullet was just shot through his shoulder, causing a hole to take place which spilled uncontrollable amounts of blood.

He turns around, his eyes immediately catching the culprit. "Hey, was that supposed to actually cripple me?" He calls out calmly, keeping his eyes fixated in the bushes where several marksmen hid.

Natalia was brushing the manga in annoyance, clearly dissatisfied that there was now a blood stain on the beloved manga. "This people have no respect for literature at all..." She mutters.

Helcurt sighed and pressed his hand on his wound to lessen the bleeding. "What are y'all trying to achieve by shooting a civilian?" He says irritably, hissing under his breath for the pain was quite excruciating.

"You're Natalia and Helcurt, or are you not?" One of the marksmen asks, getting up reveal her long, red hair. She wore a black eye patch and was known for her extreme damage and sharp eye. Lesley Vance.

"Eh? So even if we were civilians and not who you were looking for you'd still shoot?" Helcurt raised an eyebrow, "No wonder no one even feels safe around here anymore. Our justice system sucks."

"Says the assassin who forcefully takes people's lives..." Natalia mutters, "Watchu want?" She tsked, her eyes reading ahead on the manga.

"We were sent to execute you." Lesley says, "Your acts of committing murder in exchange of money goes against our laws." She says, reloading her gun.

"Murder to punish murder, huh? Seems legit." Helcurt shrugged, "Too bad. You probably can't even catch us anyway. Let's go milady." He says, casually walking away after patting Natalia's shoulder.

Lesley growled under her breath as she watches both assassins calmly take their leave. Did they really think she would let them go so easily?

Lesley makes a hand gesture to rest of her fellow marksmen to which they responded with a simple nod and went on their way. If a chase is what they wanted, a chase is what she'll give.

_____

Helcurt was confused. Why did the government send the marksmen after them? They were accusing them for murder when it was literally them who hires them to assassinate people.

It almost seemed like a load of crap. The government really was trying to act innocent. Perhaps some evidence of them hiring the assassins leaked and they couldn't afford to lose the trust of their civilians.

"So were the escape goat, huh?" Helcurt sighed, "I guess we always were there to ensure those 'pure' people remain that way." He shrugged, "And to think Dyrroth swore he changed."

Natalia nodded, half conscious of what the other assassin was even saying. She was calmly flipping through the manga, disregarding the fact that she was way ahead of Helcurt now despite their agreement that they'd read together.

"Oy, what are you gonna do? We're being targeted now." Helcurt says, elbowing her gently. Natalia looks up from the manga and glares at him.

"I don't care. I'll figure it out later." She mutters, "I'm at a really good part." She says before stepping away from him and proceeding to read.

Helcurt sighed, scratching his head. For an assassin, he couldn't believe that interacting with the girl made him struggle the most. They're still normal people even after all the things they've been through and done.

'Girls are so difficult.' Helcurt thought begrudgingly. Up till now, he felt accomplished to even grab the redheaded assassin's attention for even a minute.

Helcurt stares at the sky, trying to come up with something that'd get the girl to cooperate as well with help them get out of the sticky situation that were in.

They couldn't stay hidden in this isolated street for long, and the manga was bound to end soon which would require Natalia to return back to reality.

"Hey." Helcurt starts, getting in front of Natalia to stop her mindless walking, "I have an idea."

Natalia looked up from the manga, an irritated look on her face as she decided to lend her attention to her fellow assassin for a few moments. "What?"

"Let's attack them first before they can even make a move on us." Helcurt grins, giving her a dorky thumbs up, "I'm sure it'll be a piece of cake for you, milady. It'll be fun too."

Natalia sighed and closed her manga. She reckoned the other assassin wouldn't give up on trying to convince her anyways. In all the time she's known Helcurt, she could definitely say that he was amazing at being obnoxious.

"What makes you think I'd team up with you?" Natalia tilts her head to the side, "Do you really think I'm that easy to negotiate with?"

Helcurt sighed. He definitely saw this coming. By now her difficulty to be with has been figured out by the him.

"Not really." He hums, "How about this... We make it a competition." His eyes sparkle, feeling proud that he came up with such an idea.

"What's the whole point of a competition?" Natalia scoffed, crossing her arms as she looked away.

"Whoever eliminates the most marksmen... Will be able to make the loser do anything." Helcurt smirked, "Is that enough to convince you?"

Natalia raised an eyebrow, "Anything huh? Even if it means making you kill yourself in front of me?" She inquires.

"Aw, I know you wouldn't do that." Helcurt says, "But yes... That is... If you're the winner." He grins at her teasingly.

"Fine then. I'm going alone." She dismisses, tossing the manga at him before heading on her way, "I'm done reading. Have fun." She says before activating her disability and scurrying away.

"Feisty." A grin lingered on Helcurt's face, "There's never a dull moment with her."
