Chapter 4

Time seems to fly when you're having fun. Maybe that's the reason I didn't notice that it's been six months since I've been in the real world, been a human. Well, six months and no new wardrobe was not working, so Amy, Savannah, Amanda, Kayla, and I decided to hit up the mall. We went to all the new stores, including Threads, Otto, Lady King, Blue Cow, Sugar Star, Skeleton Key, Ani, Lucky 7, and Arrow Smith.

After our little shopping spree, we all went to Great American Cookies to get some sweets, then to Starbucks, where we sat and ate our cookies and drank our double mocha's, chocolate caramel pecan cappuccino's, and caramel late's. After we talked about tons of stuff, Amanda checked her watch and said:

"Oh, crap!! If you don't want to be toast, we need to hurry up and get back."

At that, we all grabbed our gazillion bags and raced to the back of Starbucks to the hidden door. When we got there, I asked Savannah what the whole rush thing was about, and she explained that if a new vampire stays out of the Otherworld for too long, they die (yikes). As soon as I got the last dress into the closet, there was a knock at the door.

"Lil, could you get that, it might be Steve (her boyfriend)," Savannah asked from her bathroom.

"Sure!!" I replied and opened the door.

"What the-." Was all I got to say before I was hit over the head and dragged out of the room.

When I woke up, I was in a dark room. I tried to get up but couldn't

1.) Because my legs were weak

and

2.) Because I was tied up to a chair in what seemed like a dungeon.

"Well, well, well. Look what the cat drug in." Brittany said, coming out if the dark corner.

"Why don't you just get a life and leave mine alone." I spat.

"Don't talk to me like that." She shouted.

"And what are you going to do about it," I said.

"I won't tell you, just wait to find out." She replied.

Two boys about the size of football players came out of nowhere wearing gloves and carrying silver chains.

"I hope you know that silver only works on wolves," I said.

"Oh, you'd be surprised what this silver can do," Brittany replied.

Just then, they chained me up with the silver, and the pain started. I clenched my teeth while Brittany watched in amusement.

"Make her cry!!" She shouted at them, and the silver was tightened.

"So I give you a black eye and a broken nose, and you try to burn me," I replied.

"Oh, you will pay." She snapped when someone knocked at the door, saying:

"State trooper" (help).

Brittany opened the door and hugged the man that walked in (so not good).

"Hi, big brother," Brittany said in a baby voice.

"Hey, pipsqueak." He replied.

"I told you I was going to get her." She said.

"Oh, so this is the girl that beat you up?" He replied jokingly.

"Yes." She responded.

"You know you're in big trouble." He said to me.

"When I get out of this, I am going to rip that blonde hair right out of your head," I said to Brittany then spit in her brother's face.

That must have made him mad because, in the blink of an eye, he was right in front of me and smacking me in the face.
