I tried my best to keep my tears from falling from my eyes, but it stung so badly that I started to blink rapidly just to relieve myself from the uncomfortable feeling. I kept my face hung low and just continued to eat my shítty lunch, trying to avoid sight of anyone else. Lunch just turned into a nightmare.
Despite the facts that he doesn't know I'm gay, that he doesn't know that I have a crush on him, and that he himself isn't even gay, he can be so cruel. It was unintentional, I understood, but nevertheless, it still hurt.
I probably did just misinterpreted his odd actions lately. How stupid was I to think that he would ever like someone like me? I should have just looked the other way instead of feeding myself false hope that would only end up with me broken, like now. I hated this feeling.
I gobbled up all my food down, determined to get out of the lunch area so I wouldn't be tempted to look at him again. I had to get over this stupid crush on that stupid boy. Instead of moving somewhere else in the lunch area, I went back into the main building. My next class was calculus, so I just started to make my way towards the classroom. There was still about forty five minutes left before class started, so I took the time to finish some unanswered homework questions for the class.
When I reached the classroom, I found Mina sitting alone in the empty room, working on her own homework. I must have made a startling noise as I came in because she immediately looked back at me.
"Oh, hi, Jay!" She greeted quickly before turning back to her work, focusing on finishing it. I smiled slightly and walked to the chair right next to her.
"How many did you skip?" I asked.
"Not much, just a couple. What about you?" She questioned briefly glancing at me. I shrugged.
"The same." I grabbed on to my backpack and opened it to fish out my own homework. I also took out my calculator, even though we weren't supposed to use it. I was a sucker for it since it made the job easier. I don't think the teacher even cares anymore.
Mina and I worked together on the problems we both skipped until we heard more people come into the room. I felt my anger rise to a boil as I was greeted with the same person I tried to avoid in the lunch area. I'm guessing he also skipped some problems. He wasn't alone either. Jenna was there along with some of my other male classmates who were close friends with Martin.
I played it off coolly. "Lemme guess, you didn't even start on your homework?" I asked with an accusing tone as I arched my eyebrow. He simply shrugged.
"I didn't have time," he claimed. More like you were too lazy to do it.I mentally scoffed, shaking my head with a fake smile.
"What's she doing here?" I asked, gesturing to Jenna.
