"The...Grand Magic Games?" Mira asked Master Makarov. The guild was currently huddled together around the guild master who was standing on a table. He had recently gotten a letter from the Magic Council, and for once it wasn't about property damage. Fairy Tail was asked to compete in a competition between guilds known as the Grand Magic Games.
Ugh, the GMG." Max groaned. "We entered a few years back and got our asses handed to us. It's part of the reason Fairy Tail is no longer number one."
"Well than that gives us more of a reason to join." Erza boldly stated. Max groaned again in response.
"Apparently to enter we need to be a legal guild, have a team of seven—not including the guild master—and be on time for when it begins, which is three months from now." Makarov started.
Three months? Lucy thought, That's also the amount of time I have before the other Starlight is completely drained. She bit down on her nails nervously. Then they'll be after me again and everyone will be in danger as well.
"Who'll be these seven wizards?" Erza asked.
"Well you'll definitely be going Erza, that's a given." He scanned the guild hall looking for whichever of his brats could be useful in this case. He looked to see Natsu and Gray wrestling each other while trying to get his attention. Rolling his eyes, he sighed. "Fine. Gray, Natsu, you two will join the team."
"Yosh!" They exclaimed together.
Makarov continued to scan the guildhall looking for more worthy candidates. His eyes landed on Delphina, Wendy and Sol. Delphina's fingers were crossed, while Wendy's expression showed determination. Sol was just standing there, arms forever crosssed.
"Wendy, Delphina, and Sol may also enter." They cheered and high five-d each other.
"But that only makes six. Who'll be the last one?" Mira asked curiously. Murmurs rang out through the hall.
"Lushee!" A tiny voice shouted. It was Happy. The sudden shout of her name drew her from whatever universe she was in and back to reality.
"Hm?" She asked quietly.
"That's a great idea." Makarov exclaimed. "It'll give us an opportunity to see just how much you've grown these past two years."
Lucy's face instantly lit up. "Sure!" She chimed. "I'd love to participate. But I've been wondering something. Who won the last GMG?"
Kinana sighed yet still replied. "A guild called Sabertooth. They've been winning since the seven year gap and the two years Lucy was absent. They've been the undefeated champions for nine years straight."
"What?" Natsu started cockily. "They can't really be all that good."
"Oh ya?" Max asked. "We went there once and were totally annihilated. All because of those Twin Dragons too."
"Dragons?" Wendy piped, suddenly interested, same as Natsu and Gajeel.
Warren nodded. "The Twin Dragons Of Sabertooth, Sting Eucliffe, and Rouge Cheney."
"Well..." Natsu began. "I don't know who these punks are but..." He made his right hand into a fist and smashed it into his left palm. "I'll show them why Fairy Tail is number one! I'm all fired up now!"
"Yeah!" A chorus of cheers sounded throughout the halls.
"W-Wha..." Everyone stopped their cheering and looked over to Lucy and Makarov. They had their jaws dropped, and staring at the paper wide eyed.
