Matteo's pov

We're currently in the car, on our way to Giovanni's company. I can't say that I'm not nervous because I am. I feel like shutting bricks. I don't know what everyone is gonna say when they see me. Yeah, I took a shower and Giovanni lended me some of his clothes, but if they found out that I was just a stranger, wearing their bosses clothing, I'm sure people would have a lot of choice words about this situation.

"Matteo it's gonna be fine." Giovanni says as I keep bouncing my leg up and down like a mad man. He sighs, seeing as I'm not gonna stop, Giovanni takes on of his hands off of the steering wheel, and onto my thigh. My gaze drops to his hand and I feel him squeeze my thigh gently but firmly. I want to squirm under his hand, but he'll probably think something is wrong.

"Look at me Matteo." Gio says and I notice we stop at a red light. Turning my head slowly, I look at him and he gives me a little smile and squeezes my leg again.

"It's gonna to be alright. You don't have to worry." I find myself nodding my head, under his gaze, my mind turns liquor and I feel like submitting. Even though I just met him, he's given me a feeling of security and that's something that I haven't had in a long time.

We stare into each other's eyes, but get caught off guard when someone honks their horn behind us. "That just ruined the moment." I mutter and Gio laughs before pressing his foot steadily on the gas pedal.

After 15 minutes, we make it to Giovanni's building. As we turn in the parking lot, a valet guy comes towards us and says hello to Gio. He says hello back and hands him the keys before getting out. I take that as my cue to get out as well.

Following behind him, another valet opens the door for us and I'm astonished how everyone respects him so much.

"Gio." I whisper and he turns and looks at me.

Giving me a confused look, I turn the other way and look at the people who keep looking at me.

"Don't mind them love." He says to me and I nod. Walking up to a desk, the receptionist smiles and says good morning to Gio and gives me a smile. I smile a little back at her.

For the time I've been here, she's the only one that's given me a nice look besides those other people who were looking at me weirdly.

We stop at a elevator and Gio presses the top button.

When the doors open, we notice it's empty and for about the 1000th time, I'm grateful. Stepping in, Gio stands by the buttons and I watch as he pressed the highest floor of them all.

Floor 30

It obviously is gonna take a long time before we get to the 30th floor, so I decide to start a conversation.

"Gio?" He hums and looks at me as he puts his phone back into his pocket. I didn't even see him pull it out in the first place.

"What's your family like?" Looking into his eyes, I don't miss the glimmer that sparkles in them.

"Well I'm one out of 4 boys. I'm the third son. My dad is dead and my mom is alive and well. None of my brothers are married which is weird but they said they wanted to live a player lifestyle so yeah." My face must've showed some curiosity as Gio examines me.

"My oldest brother, Anthony is 37, my second brother is Vinny who is 35, I'm 30, and our younger brother, Carlo is 27." Damn, this age gaps.

"Yeah. I know what your thinking. My mom must be old. She's 58 years old."

"I bet she still looks young." Gio smiles and nods.

"Yeah. She has grey hair, but she dyed her hair so you can't tell that she has grey hair." He laughs at the end of his sentence.

"She sounds amazing." I say and he nods. After a few seconds, the elevator dings and the doors open.

"Come on." And with that, we step out of the elevator and head down a hallway.
