Being the definition of an Early Bird, Jo was always at the office before everyone else excluding Hotch, all the while having a perfectly content yet energetic attitude. She'd spend her mornings either reading some long book with big words she had picked up, or she'd ask Hotch if she could look through old files of cases they've solved to try and get a better look on what they did at the BAU.

Though Hotch rarely smiled, Jo saw him smile often on those early mornings. She hoped he liked her, and she thought he did, seeing that every time she'd ask him for a file his mouth would twitch up the slightest bit. He seemed to enjoy her inquiry, and he often checked in on her when she studied files.

The second person who usually arrived was Morgan, who always seemed to show up whenever Jo poured her morning cup of coffee. On this particular morning, Morgan stood next to Jo and watched as she "decorated" her coffee. She picked up the sugar shaker, and turned it over, just holding it over her cup and watching the sugar pour out. Morgan looked  amused, and as the sugar kept pouring he began to laugh. Jo, finally putting the sugar down, turned to look at him, smiling.

"What?" She said, almost laughing herself. Morgan shook his head.

"Nothing, you just remind me of someone a bit." He said, his eyes shifting over to Reid, who had walked through the door only minutes earlier. Feeling he was being watched, he looked up.

"Oh, hello Morgan. Good morning, Joey." He greeted with a soft smile. Joey smiled widely, something only Reid seemed to bring out in her.

"Morning, Spence!" She chirped. Reid's smile turned flustered as he looked back down at his book, Morgan chuckling at the two younger people, before ruffling Jo's hair, much to her dismay.

"You two pain me to oblivion." He stated, walking back to his desk. Jo and Reid exchanged confused looks before going back to their previous activities. After a few minutes, Jo received a tap on her shoulder, a small white paper bag being slid on her desk. She looked up to meet the beaming face of JJ, who held a latte in her hand.

"Hey. I brought you a muffin, the cookies you made the other day were so good I felt guilty not giving you anything back." She explained, leaning on Jo's desk. Jo laughed softly.

"That's so sweet! Thanks, Jenny, but you don't have to bring me something every time I make you guys stuff, to be honest baking is a gift in its own for me." She said. JJ shook her head, a soft smile on her face.

"You know, you are the only person I'd ever let call me "Jenny"" she joked, "it sounds like a...farm girl or something." The two women laughed softly, Elle making herself known by leaning on the other side of Jo on her desk.

"Flirting, you two? Without me?" She wiggles her eyebrows, the other two women at the table laughing and greeting her. The other missing BAU team members filed in while Elle, Jo, and JJ began a conversation about their favorite movies, Elle and JJ gushing over Dirty Dancing while Jo, as a contrast, expressed her love for American Psycho.

"Yknow, Christian Bale was actually advised against the role, yeah, the directors even called it "Career Suicide"' Reid suddenly piped up, Elle and JJ giving him a somewhat unimpressed look, which was completely the opposite of Jo's reaction.

"You're kidding! How so?" She asked, clearly interested. Reid smiled, realizing he could get used to someone actually caring about his facts.

"Yeah, I guess they just thought he wouldn't fit the role! The studios all wanted someone more famous, I think, since Bale wasn't Batman yet and all." He explained, Joey paying full attention and nodding along the entire time.

"That's so interesting! Especially since he turned out to be practically perfect!" Joey exclaimed.

"I know, right?!" Reid replied, his voice heightening in volume and pitch, gaining the attention of everyone in the building, to which he shrunk down and let out a sheepish laugh.

"Geeks." Morgan murmured between fake coughs. Reid sent him a dirty look, and Jo giggled softly.

"Oh, hey. How's your shooting practice going, Spence?" Joey piped up, smiling at the timid boy, who gave her a look of pure embarrassment. She had been told by him that he was trying to get his firearms qualification, and Jo was truly hoping he would finally get to use a gun, since he barely passed his last one.

"I failed. Again." He muttered. Jo gently leaned forward, giving him a soft touch on his shoulder.

"Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before you completely master that thing. And besides, you're impressive enough without the gun." She said sweetly, Reid blushing and chuckling while Morgan rolled his eyes.

"Yknow, I'd never trust you with a gun." Morgan said. "That's why I got you this." He pulled out a whistle, putting it around Reid's neck. "If you ever need anything, just blow." He chuckled, and Reid yanked off the whistle, disgruntled. Jo leaned back in her chair.

"I'd trust Spence with a gun more than you." She said cooly, to which Morgan raised an eyebrow, an amused smirk on his face.

"Oh really? And why is that? Besides the fact that you've got a crush on him and all." Jo decided to ignore the whole "crush" part of his reply, and went on with her normally scheduled insult.

"He's smart. Knows how to think before acting." Morgan drew back with an exaggerated look of shock on his face

"You callin' me dumb, pretty girl?"

"Maybe, maybe not." Jo smirked, taking a sip of her coffee while looking at Morgan over the cup. Morgan laughed, standing up off of Reid's desk.

"You are straight up cold, woman!" He exclaimed, making Joey laugh softly. Morgan walked off, and Joey turned to Reid, who stared back at her with a look of pure amazement.

"How'd you learn to respond so fast like that?" He asked. Joey smiled at him.

"Queens, Baby, born and raised." She gave him a wink, and he smiled softly. JJ walked into the room holding files for each of the agents, handing them all one.

"Okay, Franklin Park, Des Plaines, yesterday afternoon. Three victims shot at a distance, it's the third such shooting in 2 weeks." Joey sighed, and Morgan sat down at his desk.

"Buckle up, folks." He mumbled.
