Things had died down, and Dr.Deaton was busy fixing up Josh's head. Things had been quiet for awhile, and Jo was starting to get impatient. She begun to tap her leg, biting her lip and gazing at her team from the Train windows. Ted was still freaking out, and the other passengers weren't doing much to stop that.

"It's so hot!" Ted whined, standing up and pulling back his sleeves. That's when Jo saw the marks. He had cut up and down his arm, Jo guessed he was searching for some type of tracking device he believed was in his arm. Jo swore under her breath, hoping there was some way the others in her team knew what this man wanted from them. They had a couple of close calls, Ted almost shooting Josh twice. Jo also held hope that he'd finally shut up, but that wasn't something she could control.

"We need to come up with a plan." Jo said, starting to realize the slowly setting sun.

"I'll try to talk to him." Deaton suggested.

"Do you think that'll work?" Jo asked. Deaton walked forward.

"Ted? Do you feel a bit better now?" She asked sweetly. Ted ticked, but didn't respond. "You're in no danger here." Deaton continued, "These people don't want to hurt you. The FBI agent just happened to be on the train today, she wasn't following you or watching you." Joey smiled softly at Ted to try and convince him Deaton wasn't lying. "Ted, let them go. I'll stay with you. We'll do this together, you and
I. You just need to let these people go." Ted began to look calm, "I will wait here with you. Nobody wants to hurt you. We don't want to hurt you." She repeated. Ted suddenly jumped from his seat, pointing the gun at Deaton. Jo struggled against her handcuffs.

"No!" Ted shouted

"It's okay, Ted!" Deaton put up her hands.

"Ted, don't do it!" Jo called out to him. She racked her brain for a way to convince him, "of you don't...I'll tell them to never take it out of you." She threatened. "Don't hurt anyone else, and they'll take it out." The phone rang once Jo stopped speaking. Ted rushed to answer it, and Jo let out a loud exhale, leaning back against the chair. Ted begged whoever was on the other side of the phone to take out the device at that moment, even though they still had 20 minutes.

Jo bit her lip, her anxiety getting worse when the train door opened. It hit its peak when Reid walked through the door. She held back her words, knowing he was probably instructed to pretend not to know her. Ted grabbed Elaine and held her up, pressing a gun to her side.

"Hello everyone." Reid said softly, "I'm here to remove a chip from Dr. Bryar."

"Take the vest off." Ted ordered. Jo chewed on her lip, knowing that was a horrible idea. "I want to see you."

"I don't have any weapons." Reid said, "The Higher Authority doesn't authorize it for technicians."

"Take it off!" Ted yelled. Reid did as he was told, and Jo sighed, turning away from him. "Now walk closer. I want to see both your hands at all times." Reid walked closer, and Ted pressed the gun harder into Elaine's side, making her sob. Ted ordered him to sit, and the two of them sat across from each other, Ted holding out his arm after throwing Elaine to the side. Reid pulled out a sanitary wipe, his hands shaking, "Why are you so nervous?" Ted asked.

"I'm not used to being around guns." Reid replied. "This is probably going to sting a little bit." He said, pulling a scalpel out of a plastic bag. Joey bit her lip and held her breath as she watched Reid cut into Ted's arm. He pushed his fingers into the cut and pulled out a small piece of technology. Jo recognized it as part of a phone, and took a deep breath to prevent herself from smiling. The genius strikes again.

"Woah, did you see that?" Josh asked.

"I knew it." Ted giggled, practically giddy. He made eye contact with Jo, who smiled at him. Reid stood up.

"I've got to go to the higher authority, I was supposed to-"

"Not yet!" Ted yelled. Reid sat back down. Ted pointed the gun at Reid, and Jo shifted in her seat, "turn it on." Ted demanded. Reid froze. "Turn it on or I pull the trigger."

"I can't turn it on." Reid finally spoke.

"Why not?!" Ted yelled. Jo sat up.

"It has to be implanted." She blurted.

"She's right. The chip derives it's power from
tiny electrical impulses fired between neurons, it has to be in your skin to work." Reid explained. Ted sat silently for a minute, and Reid began to stand again, "I-I really have to go-"

"Sit down! You're not going anywhere!" Ted yelled. The phone rang, and Reid anxiously played with his hands.

"It's probably the Higher Authority." He said, "I told you, I have protocols to follow. I was supposed to go right back out there. I-I have rules." Ted stared at Reid, and he continued, "if you want me to stay, I'm obviously going to stay, but, I mean, you're gonna be the one that has to explain it to the man."

"Why can't you all just leave me alone?" Ted whined. Jo frowned, looking at her lap.

"Leave you alone?" Josh stood up, and Jo turned his way, shaking his head to warn him.

"Stay our of this." Said Reid.

"No. The government does watch us. You got microwaves and satellites." Josh pointed at Ted, "I'm with you, man."

"Do not agitate him." Reid warned.

"Screw you." Josh spat. Jo glared at him.

"Sit. Down." She seethed, and Josh just flipped her off.

"Dr. Bryar, answer the phone." Reid said calmly. Josh began to go on a rant about the types of tracking devices the government uses, and Jo continued to try and tell him to shut up, and Reid kept trying to get Ted to answer the phone. Deaton stood up and pushed Josh back into his seat.

"This isn't going to help." She said.

"What the hell do you know?!" Josh yelled.

"Ted, he doesn't know what he's talking about." Deaton turned to Ted, "He's just a kid."

"Who you calling a kid?"

"Please, sit down." Jo tried a more pleading approach.

"Why are you telling me what to do?! He'd only have one gun if you weren't here. I'm with you, man!" Josh continued to shout.

"Answer the phone, Dr.Bryar, it's the higher authority." Reid said. Jo watched as Ted started to look around frantically.

"Everyone please quiet down." She said, knowing Ted was near explosion. Ted began to scream, standing up and firing his gun. "No!" Jo exclaimed, ducking out of the way before jumping up to see who it hit. Her heart sank when she saw blood seeping through Deaton's coat.

"Oh damn...damn!" Josh yelled. Josh sat Deaton down, and Reid rushed over with a rag to help stop the bleeding. Jo leaned as close as she could, whispering encouraging words to Deaton and trying to keep her awake.
