Jason would have followed Dick but it wouldn't have been wise. Imagine the questioning they would get if the big bad Red Hood was following around Nightwing and they werent fighting as expected. No one outside of Bludhaven saw Red Hood as more than just a villain.
A few hours passed though before he got nervous. Dick should have at least contacted him by now. Jason's mind began racing towards the worst possible scenarios. So soon after the beating with Bruce, Jason couldnt stand to see Dick hurt again. With that he did was he does best, threw on his helmet and started tracking his man down.
Meanwhile Nightwing was searching a warehouse just outside of Jump City. Tim's tracker had come back online shortly and was able to ping Dick a GPS location. Nightwing wasnt an idiot and knew this could very well be a trap but he also hoped it was just Tim managing to send the signal for help. Regardless, Dick snuck through the building listening for any sounds.
Eventually he heard a subtle knock from a door. Nightwing cautiously held his escrima sticks in his hands and prepared for a fight before kicking down the door. Instead of finding an assailant he found Beta Team. Red Robin, Wondergirl, Spoiler, and Beast Boy looked up in surprise.
"How did you find us?" Red Robin asked quickly.
"Damn I guess you didnt send the GPS signal," Nightwing said, "Look, I'll explain my involvement later. We have to get out of here now."
A loud bang interrupted them and Nightwing watched as a man in black fell from the rafters holding a sniper rifle. He smacked into the ground, clearly dead. Dick almost cracked a smile as he saw a quick glimmer of a red helmet in the rafters.
"What was that?!" Red Robin exclaimed.
"Nothing, let's go," Dick ushered.
"Someone else is in here!" Red Robin exclaimed, "We have to-"
"I know!" Nightwing exclaimed, "It's my partner! We can talk about it later but first we have to leave."
Beta Team stayed silent and followed Nightwing out of the building and once far away from the warehouse Red Robin turned on Nightwing, "What the hell?! Your partner killed someone!"
"I know!" Nightwing snapped back, "But you cannot tell anyone about him."
"I-" Red Robin started but Nightwing interrupted again.
"Please," Nightwing begged.
Tim sighed, "Okay. I trust you." The rest of Beta Team nodded as well but Tim continued, "But you are going to have to tell me at some point what the hell is going on. Or else I will figure it out myself."
