"Bruce, I can-" Dick started cautiously, mind immediately going back to Batman trying to attack Red Hood. He almost threw a punch before realizing Bruce had pulled Jason into a hug. That's when Dick remembered this wasn't a fight. Bruce wasn't going to hurt them.

But that is all that flashes through Dick's mind.

Jason was feeling the opposite. He was shocked as hell but was practically on the verge of crying. There wasn't a single moment in his childhood that Bruce had showed more attention and love to him but the man with the heart of steel was hugging him.

I mean he had just come back from the dead, as far as Bruce knew, so it was significant circumstances, but a bit of that bad blood between them died in that hug.

Bruce pulled back, but still kept his hands on Jason's shoulders, "You were dead! Where have you been? How is this possible?" His loud voice didn't seem to bother anyone else I'm the room but Alfred watched Dick flinch and look away from the moment in the doorway of the kitchen.

"Perhaps," Alfred said calmly, "We should eat something and discuss this at a different time."

"Of course," Bruce regained his cold composure. Jason almost sighed. Guess the moment was over. Not that he cared of course. Not that he cared. Jason looked away.

Everyone moved to the dining room as chatter grew slowly between them. Tim begrudgingly initiated the small talk with Damian as they both recognized the silence and made a silent truce to fix the awkward situation. Slowly Bruce and Alfred fell into it. Jason and Dick however lagged behind.

"You okay?" Dick managed to ask Jason.

"I'm okay. You?" Jason asked.

"I'm okay," Dick said with a slight smile before whispering, "Maybe okay will be our always."

"I should have never let you read that book after me," Jason muttered and elbowed Dick. He carefully took the older's hand in his own when the rest of the family wasnt looking and squeezed it gently. It wasn't a moment later that Jason had to let go to sit down at the table.

Not realizing his habit, Jason pulled out Dick's chair for him. It was something that had just happened throughout their relationship. An unspoken agreement. Dick got to hold the doors and Jason pulled out the chairs. Despite the moment of awkward silence and stares as the two sat down, no one brought up the strange situation.
