John's POV
I had been busy all week with the band and university. I was studying electrical engineering, and it required a lot of my focus time. However Freddie had plans for Queen, that also required my time and any money the band had ever collected from gigs etc. But things just weren't possible to handle that as well as Eden.Because of this I hadn't really been thinking much about calling her during the week, which I know sounds bad, but you wouldn't believe the amount of time I was spending working and practicing with the Freddie, Brian and Rog. So when she rang me on a late Friday evening, I was relieved. Although she sounded stressed too which gave me even more reason to try and cheer her up.
I decided to invite her over to my flat even though, I was slightly embarrassed of how small and bare it was compared to her place. She had beautiful furniture and immaculate taste whereas I was more into practicality over the aesthetics. It didn't help that she had mega rich parents and was a damn good artist, and I came from almost nothing and had to support myself to get a roof over my head. I wasn't digging at Eden at all but sometimes I envied how perfect her life seemed to be, but maybe I didn't know the full story. I would just have to wait and see.
When Saturday morning came about I woke up from my sleep on my second hand mattress, and brushed my teeth, took a shower and tidied up around the place. She rang me at around 9:30 telling me she was leaving, meaning I still had around 40 minutes to spare. I dressed in a black and white patterned shirt Brian bought me and jeans, and made my way out to the local florist where I met a elderly lady and younger woman (whom I'm guess was her daughter).
"How can I help you dear?"
"Hello, um. I'm looking for something just delicate and pretty, something to impress a woman" I chuckled very slightly. She took me over to a selection of flowers all of different shaped, and colours. I didn't want the standard red roses, I wanted something sweet and simple. After much deliberation, I came across some white flowers which the lady told me they were primroses, which despite the name, looked nothing like roses. The name was pretty too, I just hoped she liked them.I eventually left the shop and walked home, and sat patiently for the knocker on the door. And within 10 minutes of me waiting, I heard the taps of fingers hitting the front door. I went to answer expecting to see Eden except I got a surprise visit from Fred and Rog.
"Finally, you've answered!! We tried calling you earlier" Roger exclaimed.
"Sorry, I was out. Um, I'm kind of busy right now, I'm expecting someone any time now"
Freddie sighed, "But this is important John."
By this time they were walking in the house making way to the sofa, to sit down. Much to my annoyance they continually ignored me when I asked them politely to leave. "John, our shows have sold out every gig we've had, and people want more. I want more!!"
"Freddie, please you have to leave"
"John just listen to him" Roger replied
"We need to record an album, soon. It will be amazing for Queen. Just imagine how good it would be to get our name out there" Freddie continued.
"Keep on imagining, we cannot afford one. Now please, guys. You have to go". They both stared at me blankly as if I was speaking another language. Until I noticed Roger look away on my coffee table, he was looking at the flowers. Why? I wondered.
"C'mon Fred. John's got company" he said almost sounding annoyed. Freddie continued to ramble on but by this time they were both making their way to the door. I didn't realise they would be so bothered at the fact that we physically couldn't record an album.I watched them walk down the stairs that took you to the bottom of the block of flats when I noticed Eden. She took a quick glance at the boys and look startled, something wasn't right. I closed the door and waited for her to reach the top of the stairs as she hadn't noticed me yet. I had to figure out what happened to Rog and why he seemed so annoyed. And more importantly why did Eden seem scared to walk past them. I couldn't just forget it, so I was going to have to ask, for myself.
