Johns POV
After a very short wait, I heard the expected knock at the door followed by "hello?" From a familiar voice.
"Mum! Julie!" I exclaimed.
"There's the birthday boy. Oh and a face I've never seen before." She said with a smiley expression, "Eden isn't it?"
"That's me, lovely to meet you, hello Julie" Eden said politely while kissing my mum and sister on the cheek. "Great to meet you Eden, oh John wow, you did well!" Referring to Eden.
"I know I did" I replied while Eden blushed, "I'll stick the kettle on, tea mum?"
"Yep, white, one sugar". My mum replied, followed by Julie with her order.

Eden's POV
John went off to go and make the hot drinks while I was left to get to know Molly, she started off the conversation.
"So Eden, your name, I've never met anyone called that"
"Oh it's not actually my Christian name, just my middle name, I'm actually born as Kimberly, but was quite hard to say when I was really young so I went by Eden."
"That's sweet, I remember Julie was 'oolie' for a while" Molly said chuckling.
"That's why John called me 'oolie Julie' when we were young", Julie clocked.
After a few minutes John returned to the room, very clearly confused by what he overheard. "So you're really called Kimberly?"
"Yep" I laughed.
"You suit it, but I like Eden too"
The evening seemed to be going very well and soon enough I earned the nick name kimmy from Julie, she was very sweet, shy, but lovely. When it came around to John opening his gifts, he was very grateful for everything, he received cuff links, a shaving kit and an eight track.
"Thank you so much you two." He gave them a hug. Eventually the evening drew into the night and Molly and Julie left to go home.

"Id say that was a success, kimmy" John said looking way too proud of his joke. "I agree but you don't have to call me kimmy, love."
"I think I do" he said leaning in to kiss my cheek softly.
"What a day" I said hugging him while leaning on the kitchen counter. "It really was fun, thank you for everything, the presents and the... well you know." He answered.
"You've only got 1 hour left of your 20th birthday, what do you wanna do?"
"Come here" he said grinning.

20th August

Eden's POV
It was finally the day I move to my new flat, and soon I'd be starting in a new university placement, I caught my parents out by saying I'd be attending a performing and visual art school so they wouldn't be so stressed about the cost. And although art was what I truly loved, I just wanted to start uni over again. When I re-applied for a course at a different university, it made me realise, That art degree would trap me into such a small criteria of work. The world wasn't ready for what I had to offer, I needed to broaden my horizons and after many months previous to when I applied for a different university, I had to put myself into perspective and what I felt would make me happy. I looked into everything, but I had this natural connection with neonatal nursing, it was a huge change of gear for me and at first I thought I wouldn't get accepted but I worked my ass off behind the scenes of everything to get a head start.

I felt like it was a chance to rebuild my professional life after having my head set completely on something fairly useless. And it was the opportunity to go into something with passion and dedication. John was happy for me, which felt so amazing knowing the one person I truly feel I love, could support me and I could do the same for him. My life was finally falling into place.

The flat was smaller than my previous one, it was more homely though I thought. When you open the door, there's a fairly big living room with dark carpets and one panelled wall and the rest with yellow textured wallpaper on the walls.

Then across the room is a breakfast bar and a door leading to the kitchen which has modern dark wooden cupboards and a space for a fridge

The flooring in there is a cream linoleum tile, and a window by the sink which lets in lots of light. In the living room, there's a door which leads to a large bedroom, which is yet to be filled with my things. The walls are covered in a beautiful botanical wallpaper

Next to the door to my room is a door leading to the bathroom, which has thick green carpeting alone with cream coloured tiles, very fashionable

By around 5pm I called it a day, and was left alone, surrounded by many flattened boxes. I gave John a ring to see if he was ok, it was hard to not think about him when really he was always on my mind. The phone rang but didn't go through so I was left to assume he was with the band...
