Hold On

I, unfortunately, wake up. I slowly open my eyes. Wincing in pain as the bright lights shine on my face, I grab my head with both my hands and feel a soft cloth covering it. I sigh.

Why did they help me? They should have just left me to die. I look around and the whole room is coated in the soft fabric. I tried to get up but the pain from my head was too much. I don't know how long I laid there for before my doctor came into the room.

"Hello, Troye. How are you feeling?"
"How do you think I'm feeling," I say to him.

"I think we made a mistake trying to isolate you from the others. Some people do go a bit... they get lonely down here with just their haunting thoughts." I say nothing. "We are going to keep you down here for a couple more days. Just to monitor you and make sure you are okay. We don't trust you to take your medication so I will be injecting it from now on." He says. I nod my head, holding back tears.

He tells me he will be back later and I am left with my own thoughts once again.
