On June 20th Bucky was making breakfast on his morning off. "JAMES!!" Hensley yelled from the bathroom.
He went running "Baby baby where are you?'
"Bathroom" she said through a contraction.
He walked into the bathroom and saw her doubled over in pain. "Baby relax.." he said as he walked over to her. "Look at me baby breathe.. how far apart are they?' he said
"Mmm oh god this hurts" she said
"Okay yeah baby let's go cause we need to go that's two since you have called me in here. I'm gonna go get the bags." he said
"Okay." she said as she had another one.
He grabbed the bags and got his shoes on. He came into the bathroom and got her hand. "It's alright baby I'm right here." he said as he lead her out of the bathroom.
They got into his car and he held her hand all the way to the hospital. They went straight up to labor and delivery the nurses got her in a room and hooked up to the fetal heart doppler and contraction machine. "Okay Dr Maximoff is on call right now and she will be right in." the nurse said
"Okay thank you Ashlynn" Bucky said
"Baby breathe.. I know you are in pain but you need to calm down." he said as he moved some hair out of her face.
Wanda walked in and said "Hensley.. I'm gonna check you okay sweetheart."
Wanda lifted the blanket and put her gloves on then checked her cervix. "Okay we are at a 7 so we will get you set up with an epidural if you want one this is the only time I'll offer it if you say no now we can't go back later."
"Yes please." Hensley said
"Okay I'll get that ordered just relax Hensley." Wanda said
A few minutes later she got her epidural done and was able to relax and rest. Bucky sat in the chair by her bed and held her hand as he sent out text messages to family to let them know that she was in labor.
Six hours later...
"Okay Hensley it's time to push you are fully dilated." Wanda said
"Okay." she said as she swallowed hard.
The nurse put her into position and showed Bucky what to do. She started to push Wanda said "Good job Hensley... give me another big push."
Hensley pushed again and let out a scream. "Baby it's alright you are doing so good." Bucky whispered
She pushed two more times then she welcomed their son into the world. "Buck cut here." Wanda said as she had him cut the umbilical cord. "Alright mama here you go."
"Hey little guy.." she whispered as she got him to latch as he started to root around. Bucky wiped tears of his own as he saw his son.
Bucky laid beside her and cupped his head. "He's perfect baby." he said
She looked up at him and he kissed her. "You are amazing baby doll I just fell in love with you all over again." he said as he cupped her cheek.
She smiled and said "I love you James Buchanan." as she kissed him.
After thirty minutes of quiet family time the nurse took him to get cleaned up and measured. The other nurses moved Hensley to the maternity floor. The nurses brought the baby back to them "Okay mama and daddy we need his name."
Bucky started to hold him and said "Aaron James Barnes."
"Okay well little Aaron James is 8lbs and 7oz and 20inches long." the nurse said as she put his crib card in his crib.
"Thank you Ashlynn." Hensley said
Bucky came over to the bed as he held him. "Baby he's so perfect." he said as he kissed her again.
"Big blue eyes dark hair and your nose." she said as she tapped his nose.
"I never had any doubts baby if that's what you were implying." he aid
She smiled and said "I know"
Everyone came in about thirty minutes later. Everyone loved on little Aaron and held him Winnie and James were beyond excited to have a grandson to carry on the Barnes name.
