‘’Sakamaki Karlheiz, Yes.’’ Shin smiled down at the information on the papers then smiled to the blue eyes female to his right, A rather proud smile on her face. ‘’You’ve actually done a decent job, Eine.’’ This caused the girl to turn in her chair and smile sarcastically. ‘’Give me a little credit.’’ She uttered cooly. ‘’I’m not like you, Shin. I don’t sit on my ass all damned day.’’

 

‘’Enough.’’ Argued an annoyed Carla before either of the younger ones could retaliate. ‘’You’ve both done excellent, because of you both. We. The founding Vampires are that much closer to the Vampire King… And his ‘Family’ ‘’~

 

I was too tired to get out of bed the next few mornings for my classes. I hadn’t done chores, hadn’t called my aunt, and didn’t really talk to anyone. And I was fine with that. One morning, I heard my bedroom door open, then felt my bed shift. ‘’Yui?’’ I called softly without turning over. when I called her though, she didn’t answer she just started to soothingly run her fingers through my hair, Like my mother would do when I was a little girl.

 

I didn’t turn to face her, I just snuggled backwards into her. I felt the bed shift again, and then a head found itself on my shoulder. I closed my eyes and drifted back to sleep. I figured I would just miss evening classes, too. It didn’t matter. As long as I wouldn’t have to see Laito again. Not for a while anyways. I dreamt of freedom, finally leaving this place and going off to be someone. I didn’t have anything holding me back. and in the summer, I would see my closest friend walk down the aisle with her beloved.

 

Something else had come to mind as I was under, fading in and out of sleep… Yui’s scent.... Didn’t smell like this~

 

‘’what are you doing?’’ A tired Yuma called. I wrapped my napkin around my cup of ice cream and looked up at him. ‘’Same as you.’’ I answered him. ‘’Skipping school.’’ I was being honest about it. A weight had been lifted off of my shoulders when I was out. It was beautiful, a bit nippy, But beautiful. ‘’What about you?’’ I asked as I looked up at the blackened sky. He smiled before taking my spoon and shoveling some ice cream into his mouth. ‘’You just said it, Skipping school.’’ he said with a laugh. I smiled back at him and sighed. ‘’So, where’re we goin’ ‘’ He asked me. I chuckled. ‘’I was thinking I was going to sit at a park, Then run home before I get in trouble.’’ I said with a shrug, Lets be honest, the way things were going right now, I’m literally asking for punishment.

Yuma was still for a second before looking down. ‘’Let’s play a game. ‘’ he said, I began to look at him weird but realized that he wasn’t in a joking mood. ‘’Let’s play, Who’s that stranger. You game?’’ I furrowed my brows and  shuffled my feet. ‘’Yuma-’’

‘’I can’t be the only one who feels that. Made Vampire or not… Something isn’t right.’’ He growled. ‘’So you’re saying there’s someone around here… someone watching us right now?’’ I asked, So many faces popped into my head at once as I said this. Could it be Reiji? He was a graduate after all and was enrolled in an online college, he had plenty of time to walk the streets and be curious. and I also thought- ‘’L-Laito?’’ Yuma snorted and hissed at the name. ‘’You wish, Princess. It’s someone else. And we’re going to find out who.’’
