Ch-13

I frowned at my speaker and looked into his eyes, they were full of hunger, confusion. But he smiled. ''Laito..'' I greeted dryly. he smiled again and cocked an eyebrow. ''You don't seem to happy to see me.'' he cooed like nothing was wrong. I resented. ''I'm not'' I tried to stay firm. Feeling weird. like something was weighing down heavily on me. I looked up at the moon, obscured from the clouds as it was now an orangish color. 

''You should be. I could have been someone else.'' he pointed out simply. I scowled,suddenly wishing it was one of the opposing vampires that found. But it was saturday. and I could confront him if I very much so wanted to. ''Why're you here? what do you want?'' I charged. Laito tried to keep himself cool. He wasn't wearing his fedora and he looked as if he'd just woken up from sleep. But his eyes weren't tired. they were crazed, starved of something.

''Sora.'' he sang. ''You're out here all by yourself in this mess, You've been snooping. only an idiot would go snooping around fucking with the founding vampires.'' I wanted to tell him that I was doing this for his family. That I felt that he and his brothers were in danger. But I wanted to give him the impression that I didn't give a shit.

''Like you care.'' I spat. His eyes went hard, But then softened. he chuckled. ''Don't laugh at me! Look at what the fuck you did to my neck!'' he purred. ''Meow. Such language.'' He pressed, He was playing, but he was off.

''You're right, I'm not here for you. I'm here for Eine.'' I straightened and went cold. Eiene. That was the name of the Vampiress that was with the other founding vampires. I tried to hide my hurt feelings but they surfaced. Something flickered in Laito's eyes that I couldn't recognize and he smiled. ''I know you know who I mean. drop dead gorgeous and fresh. yes? I mean, she's a challenge but it's what I like about her. But- who am I kidding. You don't want to hear about all this.'' At this moment he gripped my shoulders hard and spun me around so fast I got a bit sick. ''Take your ass home..before you get hurt even worse.'' he warned. I just watched him walk away. 

 I knew Laito and his brothers weren't the closest but I never thought he'd pull something like this. There were so many things I could yell right now. Scream. But I didn't. I just walked home in silence like I was told to do. Kanato was sitting on my bed when I got home. he'd found where I put my chocolate truffles. he smiled crookedly at me, sometimes when he wanted it to be, his presence could appear to be comforting. that's when he wasn't flying into his little rages. he could be quite quiet and calm. sometimes. ''Good Afternoon Sora.'' he chimed eating another one of my truffles, testing me, to see if I would get angry. and in truth I was until he offering me a caramel one. 

I smiled and accepted it. ''hello. And thank you.'' I knew better. Yes, it made sense to thank someone for giving me something that was already mine.  ''We go on Holiday starting monday.'' He reminded me. ''I think a lot of things are going to happen starting to happen.'' I looked over at him. ''Kanato what does that mean?'' he stared at me for a while, and offered me another truffle. When I didn't take it right away, he shoved it down my top, kissed me on the nose and stood to walk out. ''You must be patient, exciting things take time.
