I sat at the table eating my breakfast quietly while Mom got ready for work and Nicky fixed her a bowl of Frosty Flakes .
By her puffy and red eyes you could tell she had been crying nonstop . She barely even came out of her room now and even cut off Beenie . I couldn't lie , I felt bad for her but Nicky was old enough to know what the hell she was doing .
No matter how many times I warned her and told her to be careful she took that shit as a joke now here she was with something .
" Beenie's been asking bout' you . " I said as I shot Kentrell a text asking him where he was . I woke up this morning with him nowhere to be found .
She humped her shoulders up and down weakly . " Okay , and ? "
" Just thought you should know . "
" Well I don't care . I got too much going on to be worried about some nigga . " She stuffed a spoonful of cereal in her mouth .
" Was it Marcus ? " I blurted out . Nicky quickly looked at me chewing slowly . It was silent for a few seconds until she finally spoke .
" What are you talkin' about ? "
" Did Marcus give it to you ? " I asked now looking at her .
She swallowed the lump in her throat and her eyes got watery . I could tell she was surprised and upset that I knew about this .
" I don't know what your talking about . " She grabbed her bowl getting ready to leave out the kitchen .
" Being in denial about the shit isn't gonna solve anything . " I looked over my shoulder at her .
" And being in my business isn't going to solve anything either . " She spat back . " I promise if you tell anybody I will kill you . "
" I'm not even like that and you know that NiNi . I'm actually willing to help you with this but I can't help you if you don't want to help yourself . " I made clear .
She sniffles letting out a big sigh . Without saying a word she left out the kitchen going upstairs .
I shook my head finishing up my breakfast .
" And I'll see you and Nicky in the morning . I love you . " Mom entered the kitchen grabbing her purse off the island .
She placed a kiss on my forehead before handing me a a couple dollars .
" I love you too . "
The vibrating of my phone caught my attention . It was a text back from Kentrell .
