Ch.5 Did you hear that?

Wendy's P.O.V

After I cooked up some meatballs for Engi and myself he started asking a lot of question about me and this world like "How did you find food so easily? What did you mean by monsters? What kind of monsters? Where do you use the bathroom?" Though that last one was kind of childish.

Then he asked me a dumb question, like the other ones wasn't.

Engi: "So uh, where do I sleep?" He said while emphasizing "I".

Wendy: "In that tent of course"

I said pointing behind him. He looked at the tent then started to look around worriedly, trying to find something, I guess.

Engi: "Uh...there, aren't anymore tents?" He asked with a worried expression.

Wendy: "No there aren't any more, there's just that one tent that we have to share."

Engi: "Well that's umm...uh."

I then realized why he was stuttering and getting worried. Then I decided to make some fun out of this.

Wendy: "Oh, I see." "Never slept with a girl before?" I said with a little chuckle.

Engi: "Don't say it like that!" "And no..."

Wendy: "There's nothing to be worried about, I won't bite you during your temporary death" I said with a smirk.

Engi just stood there with a shocked and confused face, pondering about what I said.

Engi: "Ya uh, I can sleep outside the tent so you can be more comfortable inside." He suggested with a nervous laugh.

I told him it was fine for him to be in the tent and I was joking about biting him. I also told him that I can pretty much sleep near anyone because I've shared a tent with Wolfgang and explained that he snores loudly and had night terrors in his sleep from time to time.

Engi: "Oh uh, thanks I guess." He said nervously.

Engi's P.O.V

I then realized she mentioned a person that was on one of the tombstones and decided to ask more about him.

Engi: "Hey about that Wolfgang fella, what was he lik-"

Wendy: "Don't ask me about anyone who was alive here." She said in a dark and menacing tone.

I looked at her, feeling dumb from asking the question and decided to just drop it.

I let out a yawn and decided to tell Wendy that I was heading to the tent to get some sleep, she just nodded.

Engi: "Good night Wendy" I said.

Wendy: "It's never a good night here..." She replied in her classic tone.

I ignored her statement and just went to the tent. The blanket and pillow provided were kind of dirty, but I toughed through it and went to sleep.

*BARK* *BARK*

I woke up to the sounds of, dogs? I didn't know what it was, but it woke me up. I went outside the tent and found the sun shining in my face. I also found Wendy looking through some chests, quite recklessly with some of the stuff flying out of the chests.

Wendy: "Where is it?! Where the heck is it!?" She said in a panic.

*BARK* *BARK*

The barking got a little louder.

Engi: "Hey Wendy, are you ok?" She turned around quickly with a shocked and worried face.

Wendy: "Ah! Engi, what are you doing up?"

Engi: "Well there was a lot of barking outside and it woke me up, what's going on?"

Wendy: "Those hell hounds are coming for us, and I'm trying to find...ah here it is" She pulled out some helmets, logs, and some rope. She than started walking toward the machine I saw earlier, I think she called it a alchemy machine.

Engi: "Hey hey hey, slow down, you ok?"

Wendy: "No Engi I'm not, stop messing around and help me get ready!" She said in an urgent tone.

I didn't know what was going on at all, but I decided to go with it.

Engi: "Um ok, what can I do?"

Wendy: "Look in the chest and see if you can find any spears."

Engi: "Alright."

*BARK BARK* *BARK*

The barking is getting louder and louder, which means something is getting closer.

Engi: "Ok, I think I found some, will these do?"

Wendy: "Yes these will do fine, you do know how to use a weapon right?"

Engi: "Of course, you just use the pointy part"

Wendy: "Good, I guess. Here put these on"

She handed me a helmet and a log suit, I put on the helmet but was reluctant to put the log suit on in fear of splinters.

*BARK BARK BARK* *BARK* *BARK* *BARK*

Engi: "Wendy, we're not going to fight anything right?! I ask in a panic.

Wendy: "Just get ready" She says while holding up her spear and wearing her helmet and log suit.

The barking suddenly stopped and all was quiet, besides my heart pounding in my chest. I didn't know what was going on, but I knew something was coming to get us.

I then saw something out of the corner of my eye, something  black with sharp teeth, and it was coming straight for me...
