Ch.6 Hound Attack

AHHHHHHH!

A sharp pain rang out in my right leg as a hound chomped on it. I forcefully stabbed the hound with my spear in the head repeatedly until it stopped moving.
I loudly groan in pain.

Wendy: "Engi! Are you ok?"

Wendy rushes over to me and looks at my wound.

Wendy: "It doesn't look like it's that ba-"

Engi: "Look out!"

A hound was preparing to bite down on Wendy's leg but I threw the spear at the hound and kept it from attacking Wendy.

Wendy promptly stabbed the hound in the head, but she took more stab attempts to kill it than me.

There were two more hounds coming toward each of us. Wendy gave me her spear and sprinted toward mine that I threw earlier. The two hounds were hot on her tail.

I ignore the pain in my right leg and used my spear to pick myself up. I then raised my spear up, ready to attack. One of the hounds pounces towards me and I swing my spear like a bat toward the hound, knocking it away. The second hound comes towards me and I raise my spear and thrust it downward in the hound, luckily killing it .

Wendy's P.O.V

I ran towards the spear that Engi threw earlier and picked it up.

I saw the hounds coming towards me and grip the spear and prepare myself to kill these vile hounds. When I was about to stab a hound right in it's face, Engi hopped in front of me and beat me to it.

Engi: "Take that!"

Engi stabbed the hound in the head with a loud crunching noise following suit.

The other Hound was still there, it barked at us then rushed towards us. I looked toward Engi and he looked towards me, I knew what he was thinking.

Engi: "You wanna try it?" He said while pulling the spear out of the hound's head.

Wendy: "Sure"

WOOF WOOF!!!

The hound came right at us and we both prepared to attack. The hound got closer to us and when it pounced at us...

Engi/Wendy: NOW!

We both struck our spears in the hound's head, killing it instantly.

The hound attack was over.

Both of us sat on the ground and took a breath after our encounter.

Engi's P.O.V

Engi: "Wow, that was intense..." I say out loud

Wendy: "Ugh, I should've been more prepared"

I look at Wendy, confused on what she meant
Engi: "What do you mean by that?"

Wendy: "Well I would've been more prepared but because of you I-"

I cut Wendy off

Engi: "Me?! Excuse me? What did I do?"

Wendy: "Coming to this hell is one!"

Engi: "Well excuse me princess, I didn't really have a choice coming to this world now did I?"

Wendy: "How was I supposed to know that genius?"

Engi: "I told you that the first time I got here!"

Wendy: "No you didn't!"
I noticed that I was getting mad and louder at the second, so I decided to stop talking for a second and calm down, but Wendy didn't.

Wendy: "I was doing fine on my own, getting my food, supplies, and everything then you had to come around and....a-and..."
Wendy began to quiet down and calm herself.
I looked over to Wendy and saw that she was looking towards the ground without an emotion on her face, I had a feeling that she regretted what she said.

Engi: "So, you're saying that I ruined your flow when I came around huh?"
She didn't say anything...

Engi: "Well if you want I can just try and survive on my o-" "NO!"

I looked up at her with a shocked expression

Wendy: "I mean, don't go Engi. I'm sorry for what I said, I was just blowing off some steam, it's not your fault at all"

Now I started to feel bad...

Engi: "Well it's kind of my fault as well, I mean, I did mess up your flow"

Wendy: "It's alright...I was being kind of selfish, but I'm glad I have someone with me in this hell"

Engi: "Aww, thanks buddy"

Wendy: "Y-yeah, b-buddy..."

There was some awkward silence for a few seconds until I finally made a mistake and tried to stand up.

Engi: "Ouch! That hurts!" I said while holding my leg and falling on the floor again, dropping my spear.

Wendy: "Oh yeah, I forgot about that."
Wendy went to a nearby chest and got some supplies that I couldn't recognized.

Wendy: "Let's take care of that wound, this will sting..."

Engi: Strained  "oh...great"
