"Deonte stop playing with me before I mess you up!"  I yelled to my friend as he tickled my side and ran down the hall to his dorm.

"You're always yelling at somebody Lauren, that's probably why your head hurt now" he stated talking about my major hangover I had after celebrating my 21st birthday last night.

"You know what, you ain't right" I said shaking my head. I felt like absolute shit today and he knows it. I'm never drinking again.

My name is Lauren and I am a junior at Cae University (a small university in the middle of Iowa). Today is the first day of classes and yesterday all my friends came back early to celebrate my 21st birthday with me. I am the RA of The Mayers Hall this year and I am using this morning to post my door decorations on each of my floor mate doors. Something that Deonte was supposed to be helping me with but he is running around bothering me instead. Deonte is one of my best friends and I mean friend friend. He is like a little brother to me,  but an annoying ass brother. As I made my way down the hall to post the decorations I noticed some of the students coming in and I made sure to introduce myself. I am excited about the year and being a RA, I just hope that the students are all chill and don't make my job hard. Deonte stays down the hall from me this year and promised that he will keep the traffic flow low but I doubt it seeing how he is the star basketball player and is always seen with the guys or a little girl on his arm.

I finished putting up all the decorations and went back to my room to look over my schedule for the day and just relaxed a little because my head and stomach were killing me. Luckily my classes don't start until 2pm on Mondays leaving me a few hours to catch up on Greys anatomy. I left my dorm door open just in case anyone needed help or had questions. As I sat and watched Meredith perform a surgery, my head turned to see someone lightly knocking on the open door.

"Hey sorry to interrupt you, I am trying to get into my room but my key isn't working" stated the boy standing in my door way. I am not going to front my move, he was fine as hell.

"No problem I can take that key off your hands and get someone over here to let you in and get you the correct key." I told him as I approached the doorway where he was standing to take the key from him. "What dorm room are you in? " I asked him as we walked down the hall to the main entrance.

"I'm in this dorm" he stated point to room 304.

"Oh that's my friend's dorm, his lil big head self should be in there" I said while starting to dial his number on my phone. I know he always sleeps with his head phones so he probably just didn't hear someone trying to get into the door. Based on the door deck I created, I now know that the boy's name is Trayvon. "Nigga open up the damn door I told you about having your headphones in all the time, somebody could've been dying and banging on your door and you wouldn't know an-" he hung up on me and opened the door.

"Girl you're always yelling!" he yelled in my face.

"I don't care, you need to do better." I told him while rolling my eyes "This is your new roommate Trayvon, let him go ahead and settle in while I go get him a new key"

"Wassup bro" Deonte said while shaking his hand as they greeted each other. "Your room on the left over there make yourself at home. Just don't touch my shit." Him and Trayvon laughed as they made their way into the room.

When Deonte was about to close the door I stopped him and whispered "He fine fine" but he just rolled his eyes and closed the door in my face. Deonte makes me sick sometimes but we have been friends since we were 10 so there is no getting rid of him. As the morning went on I helped all the floor mates check in, they all seemed pretty cool expect for this one girl named Marie, she just gave me bad vibes she had an attitude off the back. I went into my room, took some advil for this headache and took a quick nap before class. I am NEVER drinking again.
