Chemistry

The next day I heard a knock on my door and opened it to see Tre. He had on some skinny jeans and a colorful nike pullover, it fit him.

"Good morning," I said as I gathered my things "my car is right in the east parking lot" I started to say before he interrupted me.

"We are taking my car, I pulled it up already" He stated as I locked my door. We made our way out of the dorm hall and to his car, which was really nice. It was an all-black Chrysler 300 with tinted windows.

"This is really nice," I told him as we got in.

"Thank you, she's my baby" He said while patting the dash as if it was an infant which made me laugh. We made our way to Walmart to get our lab materials. While there we talked for a little bit and I found out that he has two younger sisters that he adores and that his family lives in Virginia, that's where his little accent came from that I couldn't put my finger on. We got done just in time enough for us to make it to class in time where we sat by each other. Chemistry lab was decent and we got out early since it was the first day and we didn't have much to do.  On our way out of the lab before Trey headed back to his car he stopped me.

"Thank you for being my Walmart buddy today" He said while twisting the top of his hair, "I was thinking that we should link later to start the Chem reading together" He asked.

"Yeah defiantly" I said while taking out my phone, "what is your number, I was going to the library tonight to do some homework I can text you when I am on my way." I told him while opening my phone app.

"Its 555-678-1097" He stated as I typed it in, "Just shoot me a text, see you later" He said with a little smile as he ran off to his car. I went to meet up with Keisha for our daily lunch meeting. She was sitting in the café with her little brother beside her. I grabbed me a sandwich and made my way towards them.

"Hey little man" I said as I gave baby Aden a hug.

"Hey LoLo" He said calling me by the nickname he gave me.

"He girl," I said to Keisha as I sat down. "You on babysitting duty a little early today?" I asked as I took my sandwich out of the package.

"Girl yes, but I get the night off tonight since my mom had the morning shift, "She says as she took a sip of her drink "I know you don't have to be to class till late on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays, so what's the word" she says with an evil grin on her face. Keisha rarely have nights off since she cares for her brother so much so it would be really nice to go out with my girl especially since we couldn't go out for my birthday. 

" I have a little study date tonight with Trey, " I started before I was rudely interrupted.

"Uhmmm who the fuck is Trey" Keisha interrupted as baby Aden called her out for saying a bad word.

"Yeah Deontae roommate I told you about" I said

"Oh so y'all going on dates now ? " she asked.

"Yes, we are in the same Chem class together and we were going to start the reading together, that's it." I said while shaking my head cause she always jumps to conclusions. "But, I was thinking that I can just do homework from 7-9 and then we can pregame around 9:30 then go out? " I stated.

"Yeah that works, I can slide to your dorm, and you should invite Treyyyy and Deontae fine ass" She said as I shook my head again.

"Girl you are a hot mess, But okay I'll ask him" I said as I finished my sandwich "It will be nice to hang out with my two best friends together. Just text me when you're ready to head my way." I told her as we said our goodbyes and I headed back to my dorm. I sent Deontae a text telling him to come out and he said iight and then my phone started ringing and i noticed that it was Rashad.

I answered:

Hello

Hey Lauren, what's up ma

Nothing much just made it back into the dorm, about to take a nap how about you. I was not interested in this conversation and was ready to take my nap.

Nothing just laying here I miss you I ain't hear from you in a while.

I called you like three times last week and you been steady curving

I told you I be busy working, and after work I don't be seeing your text and falling asleep

Aw okay cool, well I am about to take a nap I'll talk to you later. I said while rolling my eyes, it is only so much ignoring me that I'll take I don't care how much I am feeling you, I can't be played like I am stupid.

I took a nap and texted Trey when I woke up that I'll be heading to do homework in an hour. I live for naps, they make me feel so refreshed especially when I know I have a long night ahead of me. I got my clothes out for the night and straightened my hair so that when I came back I can just slip on my outfit and throw on my jewelry. I made my way into the library and noticed Trey.

"Hey wassup you want to find a study room to go do the reading in?" I asked him as I made my way to him
"Yeah for sure" He said as he got up from his seat. We found a study room pretty easily seeing how it was the beginning of the school year. We finished reading pretty easily and both of us didn't have to much homework so we were done fast but it felt good knowing that we got it out of the way.

"So what's your major?" He asked as we started to pack up our things.

"My major is secondary education with a minor in science," I stated as I sat back down in my chair "I want to be a science teacher, what's your major"

"Nursing" He stated "I want to be a nurse in a children's hospital"

"That's interesting, what made you want to go into that profession?"

"My little sisters, one was born premature and I spent a lot of time in the hospital and that made me want to become a nurse, why teaching?" He asked me.

"I love to learn and I always had a passion to teach ever since I was young."

"That's what's up, are you form Iowa?"

"No I am actually from Chicago, our school system has its ups and downs and I want to contribute to those ups if I am able." I told him.

"That's wassup," He stated as he put the rest of his things away "I see you on your Freedom Writers shit" he said making me laugh as we exited the room.

"I don't know if Tae told you, but we going out tonight if you want to join, we gone meet up in my room in about an hour" I said reading the text from Keisha saying she was on her way.

"Iight bet, I'll see you soon then" he said as he headed the opposite way toward some basketball players he saw. I went back to my room to get ready for the night, I had a nice little black blazer dress and thigh high boots. I started to put on what I call my "going out make up" which included some lashes and gloss and a little highlighter. As I applied my highlighter I heard a knock on my door.

"Open the door bitch we finna get fucked up !!" I heard Keisha yell and when I opened the door she was holding two bottles of Hennessey. Oh lord let the night begin.
