Homecoming

"Come get your tickets for the big homecoming game!" the assistant football coach yelled in the quad as me and Keisha walked past on our way to lunch.

"You're going to the game this year right?" Keisha asked me. I missed last year's game and she never let me live it down, she takes football very seriously and tries to force me to come to every game there is.

"Yes girl I'm going." I told her as we entered the lunch room  "but you know I am more excited about the dance, you figured out what you're going to wear yet?" I asked her.

"Girl no, I need to figure that out ASAP cause you know my bae going to be there and we already established that we are all going to be at the same table so I need to look like a whole snack. " she stated while flipping her hair as I rolled my eyes.

Homecoming was this weekend and it is a big deal here on campus. Everyone looks their best, there are a lot of contests and events for the whole week, it is overall a good time and my friends and I always have a ball. The last few weeks have been pretty much a  blur with me getting over the whole Rashad situation (that I didn't know would hit me as hard), studying for this hard ass chem course, attending countless RA meetings, and work study. I am in desperate need of a good weekend that includes being surrounded by my people and good vibes.

"Girl I can't wait till you gone ahead and tell that young man that you have a crush on him and stop playing." I said while chuckling, at this point I'm over the whole protective thing, she's going to love this man regardless"You know my  friend a little slow and doesn't catch on to social skills easy, he was an awkward child sus, he need a little assistance in the flirting department." I said causing us both to laugh.

"You are so right girl, I was texting him the other day and I told him that I was bored, why he gone tell me that I should try reading a book." She said while tilting her head to the side dramatically "I almost texted his ass back like boy if you don't come over here and put that thang up on me." she said while rolling her eyes. 

"Girl I can't wait till you get some cause you're feening now." I told her while we took our seats.

"Shut up it's been 2 years I feel like my vagina is numbing up and starting to close in on itself it's been so damn long." She sighed while laying her head on the table dramatically.  My friend is so extra but she is right, it has been a long time since she has had anyone due to her being so busy helping her mom out with her brother and now that they are finally back on their feet it will be nice to see my girl happy with a guy again.

"Okay we got two days before the weekend to get bad and bougie, what if we go get our nails done and shopping for our outfits today." I stated "I'll do our hair tomorrow after we figure out what we are wearing." I told her as we continued to eat.

"Okay cool cause you also need to be a bad bitch for Tre fine ass"  she said while giving me this look as if she knows a secret that I don't. 

"How many times I gotta tell you that he is not interested, I can tell if a guy is feeling me I do well at reading people"  I said while taking a bite of my food "I also want to stay low key for a while you know focus on myself."

"Girl you've been focused on yourself for damn near a month you focused bitch now it's time to get back out there." she stated as she went to throw her sandwich package away. "I don't know what type of radar you so call have, but it is off, yall both obviously have this lil vibe going and you got the nerve to talk about me and Tae." She said. I think she is going crazy, she always trying to hook someone up with one another. Tre and I had nothing going on, but i won't lie, I find myself liking to be around him more. We finished our lunch and decided to meet back up in a few hours to go and get our nails done.

I've been really low key lately every since the whole Rashad thing happened. I know that we were not in a relationship or anything, but to say I wasn't hurt would be a lie. As I made it to my room to do my homework, I overheard one of residents (who I later discovered to be Marie) on the phone.

"Yes girl his fine ass is definitely going to be there," she stated while walking her laundry to her room. "Yeah I'm for sure, I heard him and Tae talking about it today in class, both of them will be there so me and you gotta step sis" she stated while unlocking her room door and entering. I knew she was talking about Tre, all the girls talk about him on this campus. Every since Tre got here he has been hot commodity. I'm honestly not sure if I'll catch his attention even  if I wanted to.

"Damn Lo you're about to burn my scalp off." Keisha screamed as I flat iron her hair, she is so tender headed and extra.

"Girl shut up, I'm trying to make sure your stuff bone straight so it won't get poofy," I explained while continuing to do her hair. We were getting ready for the dance and running a little behind of course so I will admit I was going a little fast. I finished our hair and we hurried to get dressed. We decided to pregame while we waited for our uber that was 10 mins away.

"I just want to have a good time tonight" Keisha said while passing me the blunt she was smoking, "no drama, just a good time with my people you know, slow mellow night under the stars."

"Girl why you always get so weird when you high," I said while passing her the blunt back "we going to a home coming with loud ass music in a building what you mean under the stars." I said as she gave me a stale face.

"I hate you." She said then we both started laughing. We took a couple shots then headed outside to wait on the uber. We looked good tonight. Keisha had on a sleek all black dress and a straight middle part and I had on a pink blazer dress with a high curly ponytail. When we walked into the dance we automatically headed to the bar, got us some drinks, then started to look for the boys.

"Girl there they go over there" Keisha said looking Tae up and down, "with his fine ass." she said while walking up to them.

"I can't stand you" I said while following her. The boys greeted us with hugs and hellos as we went over to the bar area and got us another shot before finding our table. When we sat down I'm not gonna front, I had to check Tre out, he had on this white turtleneck with navy pants, this brown classic Gucci belt, gold jewelry and a fresh haircut.

"Yall took all damn day getting ready" Tae said as he took a sip of his hennessy, "the damn dance almost over."

"Boy shut up!" Keisha yelled at him "Come on Lo let's go get a shot and hit the dance floor"  We got us yet another shot of goose and went to go dance as Lil Baby's newest song played through the speakers. "Okay Lo don't cap, Tre look good tonight" Keisha said while looking towards the boys who were still seated at our table.

"Girl I'm already knowing" I said while sighing "we should've never took them shots before we  left cause baby when I tell you I did a tripple take when I saw him" I said while fanning my face as Keisha laughed.

"Girl that's the same thing I thought about Tae when I walked in," She said as I looked over at Tae, he had on a black button up with skinny fit black dress pants paired with some Gucci shoes. We continued to dance and then I looked over and noticed Marie and her girl walk in. I know that she was on a mission to get over to Tre and something in this liquor didn't like the sound of that.
