Caught in rewind
Like a ship dragged downstream,
Fighting and wailing
For what it just can't seem
To accomplish with strength,
Mere will power's crutch.
It's as if its caught in slow motion
And the waters are only speeding up;
It's lost, sailing backwards
And away from its cause,
Retreating, resigning-
An effort now gone.
Time rises to reclaim Glory's
Mast and broad deck;
Its greatness is now fading
Into a forsaken wreck.
