He's alone and quiet,
No one cares to hear him;
He's silent like secrets,
The ones they place upon him.
He listens and waits
For the wishes sent upon his name;
He's all alone but still bright,
With a millions secrets cast his way.
I watch him breathe in
All those hopeful words,
And he smiles back at me
So that I know I have been heard,
But I have often wondered
If his heart has become heavy
From the drifting wishes he hears.
Do they pull him down like gravity?
Does he want to scream
All the secrets out?
Does he feel more alone
Because he's bottled up?
I wish I could reach him,
But I don't know how;
He's just a lonely star in the sky
And I'm just as alone on the ground.
