Like a centaur, the creature that approached was half humanoid, half animal. The head and upper torso of a lean goblin blended seamlessly into the legs and lower torso of a stout wild boar. The rough goblin skin was greenish-grey and the bristley boar hair was a mix of brown and grey. It carried a small bow in its hands. An arrow was knocked and the string was slightly drawn back. It stood about 120 cm tall and appeared to weigh nearly 100 kg.

Being careful to remain undiscovered, Fyle used the THI to Identify it.

Another meter or so and the goblok would be right below the branch Fyle was crouching on. He thought it might be a scout because it appeared to be alone. Figuring he might have a chance to kill it by surprise, he checked the specs on the KA-BAR he’d pulled out when he’d originally noticed the movement. While he had been highly trained with the KA-BAR during his time in the military, he didn’t know how it translated into CoC terms.

-KA-BAR (Very Common)-

-Equipment Type: Weapon, Small-

-Damage type: Slashing, Piercing-

-Damage: 1 - 4 HP-

-Durability (DP): 20-

-Compatibility (CP): 1000 (M/T)-

-This 30 cm long knife has an 18 cm carbon steel blade. It is the universal starting weapon.-

He felt it was a good, solid back-up weapon, but hardly something to rely on as a main. At best, he’d have to successfully attack the goblok four times to kill it. At worst, thirty. Since the goblok’s only weapon appeared to be a bow, he’d have a chance if he stayed in melee range. Given his current state-of-affairs, this was the best chance he’d have at getting some epic experience and a better weapon.

When the goblok was just below him, he dropped out of the tree in squirrel glider position and drove the KA-BAR into the side of the goblok’s neck as he landed on top of it. He felt the blade sever its spine and they both collapsed to the ground.
