You’re walking on the hallway of your building. The students are coming one by one and there are still few wandering around.
You are heading to your classroom. You quickly walk as soon as you feel that there is someone behind you, and you know that this is no good.
The presence is creeping you out so you half run and walk just to reach your classroom without meeting any accidents. But in no expectation you trip on something solid and hit the ground.
Some students look on your way. Others want to help and others just stare at you without any care. You can’t assure that they will lend you a hand.
You stand up and gather your things, not minding who the culprit is. You already know who’s behind this. In fact, it happens to you almost every day. Maybe because you’re a weakling and vulnerable that’s why they can easily bully you.
As you sit down, someone tosses crumpled paper at you from nowhere. You pick it up on the floor, open and read it. There was a short message yet it brought a big impact to you. You are scared and confused at the same time.
One of them is asking you on a date. This is ridiculous, you think. But if he was dead serious, you will not assent him whatever happens.
Your class ended up. You reach for your bag and slide it in your shoulder. Your arms support your books. As you walk towards the gate, you hear a noise near your place. So you peer through the gap of the slightly opened door.
Your eyes widen to see Kai. You can say that he is a victim, too, because one of them is trapping him against the wall and ready to strike him and pin him down dead.
You haven’t heard anything from this guy, except about the rumor that he was a notorious bully before. You are not sure if he’s still a bully until now.
You were attending the same classroom, but you never had a chance to open up a conversation with him. He is not approachable. His expression is always blank and scary.
Your book fell all of a sudden, it was accidental. You feel uneasy and your lips are twitching in fear. You probably might get their attention.
Kai stares at your way. He sees you. The others follow what he’s staring at. So the spotlight is shifted on you. You gulp. You’re now a dead meat.
“I…I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt your session. I should go. I’m sorry” you say stammering. All you want is an escape and go home safe, but these guys can’t do anything good for you.
But before you could move, a voice rose in silence. “Aika – sshi, why in a hurry?” It was Kai who called you. You feel that you can’t move anymore to face them.
Beads of sweat start to fill your body. You are sweating all over. Your chest is pounding heavily, too. You turn to face them. Your feet are shaking and your knees starts to get jellies as you step them across to their way.
“N…nae? Wh…what do you need from me? I’m sorry I need to go. I left something to get from classroom a.s.a.p.” you reason. But you know no one believes you in such a stupid alibi.
“Just in second.” Kai says. In just a blink of an eye, all the guys are on the floor, arching their backs in pain. You could barely explain what happened because it all occurred within just a split second. He’s amazing, you think.
You can’t voice anything out now. It was like your mouth was zip locked. Kai starts to walk towards you.
“So, how about a date tomorrow after class?” he said, he has a smirk kissing his lips. You eventually puzzled things out. He was the one who threw paper at you.
“Do you mean…” as if he reads your mind, he nods.
“Are you one of them?” you ask.
He nods again. But you just gave him a confuse look. He was one of them yet he beats them up.
“Do you like me?” you ask. He nods. You are getting pissed, why doesn’t he speak up and talk to you?
“But why did you let them hurt me?” you say. If he likes you and he’s one of them, He shouldn’t tolerate what are these guys are up to, specifically when they’re just beating people up.
“Because I want to get your attention” he finally speaks up. Was he referring to the throwing paper at me? You think.
“I didn’t like that” you say, crossing your arms over your chest. This time you gained your confidence.
“But I like you” he says. He smiles at you as he pulls you out of the room.
