"MORNING."  CALPURNIA WAS FINALLY GETTING used to the presence of the group of boys, actively pursuing it without James dragging her around. She had begun to fall through her own shield. She grabbed an apple and a cinnamon roll , sitting between Peter and Remus, opposite the other two boys.

"Wotcher, Cal." Sirius gave a cheesy smile, and she fist bumped Peter with a smile of enjoyment.

"whats up Remus?" Peter asked as Remus scowled at the newspaper in front of him. Calpurnia leaned over to see what it was, and her heart caught in her throat.

"Another muggleborn family." James sighed as he took the paper from the pair, tearing both out of their odd state of bewilderment and fear.

"We aren't letting  anything happen to you guys, alright?" Sirius assured to the three on the other side of the table, who all nodded. Calpurnia gave a thankful glance.

"Thanks Sirius, I-" she winced and shut her eyes as the vision came forwards, showing her a long billowing robe, and a snake like face. She saw the woods, and a large wolf, about to attack a group of people, faces blurred out.

"Calpurnia?" She was brought back with a touch to the shoulder by Sirius, her eyelids quickly brushing open.

"I, I have to go. Yeah, i have to go." She mumbled to herself and quickly left, walking swiftly through the hall, large doors slamming behind her.

"Should someone follow her?" Peter asked concernedly, bringing the focus away from the door.

"Something is seriously up with her." Sirius sighed, sitting back, worry still etched on his face.

"I'll go." James sighed and stood, jogging to keep with her path. She was where he expected, down by the lake, sat quietly as the fall winds swept across the grounds.

Calpurnia wiped her nose of the last of the blood and felt a presence beside her, James.

"What happened back there?"

"you have to have noticed." she spoke glumly, skipping a stone across the water.

"Noticed what?"

"I'm a freak. Insane." she scoffed, the stone she threw next roughly sinking downwards.

"Calpurnia Carrow, you are not a freak." he spoke, aggravated at her lookout.

"opinions were meant for disagreement." She scoffed to herself, sitting against the oak tree, looking at the sky.

"Cal-Pal, stop, your scaring me." The sentence broke her, her whole self tensed, and yet she stood back up and faced him. Her face was panicked, and James looked at her confusedly.

"Calpurnia-"

"Forget this all. Pretend i said nothing. I'm sorry. I don't want to scare anyone." He nodded and gave a small smile, and she calmed down.

"Thank you." She smiled back, her lips pursed.

"Uncle Claude?" The small girl murmured nervously as the door slammed shut beside her, the blindfold coming off with some quick head shaking.

It started off with just handcuffs in a bland wooden room, only a bed present. Yet before she'd learned to center the pain away from herself while the visions occurred, Calpurnia would bang her head or kick the walls so hard either they'd break or she would, resulting in some forehead scarring and a middle toe that bent awkwardly.

So they upgraded. Soon, the bed was gone, walls and floors padded, windows barred, and the handcuffs were replaced with a straight jacket.

It was a reckless asylum of a home.

But hey, home is home right? She was fed, se was able to get an education...

And she couldn't hurt anyone.

Thats what mattered most.
