CALPURNIA WASNT STUPID. She was by no means a 'street smarts' kind of person, but when the Lupin boy was acclaimed 'ill' for the second month consecutively and disappeared from the Hogwarts halls, Calpurnia was suspicious. She debated asking James, but that wasn't going to happen. More than likely he would freak out at her, or the opposite if she didn't get answers. The tallest of the group of boys had grown on her, leaving deep scars on her soul when he gave her any sort of attention. Whatever this feeling was, it hurt.

Remus Lupin had seemed to think the opposite though, that she'd already figured it out. When she never mentioned it, that had sealed the deal. The girl had shown a tendency to be an asker, knowing the wholes of the group dynamic within the short month they'd let her in. She was weird though. He thought she had some kinda special abilities. She could smile and flip his stomach backward. Laugh, and make him smile. Talk, with the lower pitched voice she had, and send a dagger into his heart. She had since first year, although smiles and laughter were new (and awesome) looks on her. Maybe she was a Veela. Until he found out, he would just ignore it.

Sometimes, though, Sirius Black had realized why she didn't get along with most people. She was weird. She got earsplitting headaches she never acknowledged, and she slept sitting up at all times, he found out when they snuck her in their room to plan out a trip to the kitchens. She spoke few and far between to most, but she started coming out of her shell more for the boys.

Peter loved the company. Calpurnia would entertain his wild thoughts, sitting up into the late hours of the night in the common room. She never seemed to think of him as little, or not good enough. She let him vent fully, without the annoyed interruptions of a whiny Sirius.

As usual, James Potter was over excited about Lily, but also appreciated the girls perspective Calpurnia gave, although it didn't seem accurate. She embraced the pranking and had shown the boys tunnels that led through the castle, which went straight on the map. She had dozens, through paintings and such.

"Rem not better yet?" she asked as the morning came, Peter being the first to meet her at the table, and she passed him the deviled eggs, knowing he enjoyed them.

"moved to hospital wing yesterday. He should be back this morning." Peter looked around for the boy, before seeing Sirius and James come down with a tired Remus. He looked bad.

"tea?" Calpurnia offered with a concerned glance, knowing the tired eyes well, as they reflected her own.

"thanks." Remus gave a small smile, accepting the cup, as he watched her not return it, only staring into his eyes again, as he sat down.

"You look ill still, are you sure your alright?" she spoke quietly as the other boys talked, and he nodded with a small smile once again.

"I'm fine, Calpurnia, don't worry. It's a chronic thing." he assured, and she gave a glance of disbelief.
