ACT I; SCENE I
-=+•+=-
THE FIRST YEARS SORTING was nonetheless mildly boring, especially for Calpurnia. She would eat dinner and then lounge at the end of the table, eavesdropping on other people at her table, trying not to call attention to herself as she plotted ways to sneak out early.
As she attempted to leave, a hand took her own, and she looked back.
"every year, Cal?" the fiery redhead spoke with a sigh, tilting her head, and Lily Evans pulled Calpurnia back to the table, sitting her beside her, where her old spot was left empty.
The one peculiar thing though, was Lily sat near James, Peter, Sirius, and Remus but still beside Marlene and Alice. Calpurnia gave a glance between the two groups, as they all acted completely normal.
"Hey, Callie." Sirius gave her a small wave as she settled in.
"Ciao." she greeted, absentmindedly studying the people around her.
"how was your summer?" she was pulled from thought again as Lily asked her the question.
"just wonderful," she said, brows knitted in thought as she pushed back the rising feeling in her abdomen. A vision was coming.
"you alright?" Peter asked, and she nodded.
"ready for a nap." she joked, but with how she spoke, a soft yet threatening tone, as she stole a glance from James, who gave her a concerned look as she felt like banging her head on the table.
"I have to use the bathroom. No Lily, I'm not running away to the common rooms," she answered the redhead's question before she asked it, leaving to go actually slam her head on a wall, as she walked away stiffly.
"still don't know how you have a crush on her, Rem. Something is off about her." Peter spoke eating another bite of a biscuit.
"I don't have a crush on her, Pete." he sighed and flicked through the daily prophet for the day.
"i'm willing to strike you a bet on this one-" James began and the girl soon came back with the end of the feast, concealing a used-to-be bloody nose shed gotten from letting her vision grip her reality.

Calpurnia was sitting by the window in the common room of Gryffindor house when she next encountered a soul willing to speak, the next morning.
James Potter, which piqued her interest.
"fourth year, huh?" he said as he sat beside her.
"four years it has been." she nodded once, and he sighed a little.
"do you have any friends?" he asked.
"do you have any sensitivity for other people?" she said calmly turning her attention to him, leaning forwards attentively.
"I'm gonna take that as a no." James knotted his hands together and set them on his knees.
"say, why not?" he broke the silence.
"because." she reasoned with a glance in his direction, which he met with a goofy smile, which held her at a sigh.
"that's not a good reason."
"last time I checked, Lily left for the commons 3 minutes ago." she checked the clock to assure the fact.
"I'm not looking for Lily, Cal-Pal," he said and leaned on the windowsill seat.
"what did you just call me?" she looked at him with an expression best described as utter confusion.
"Let me see your timetables." He waved his hand over, and she handed him the crumpled sheet of paper. As he scanned it, his eyes grew wide and a smile bloomed his features.
"No way, Cal-Pal."
"Not my name~"
"We have every class together! As all friends should, might i add." He handed it back and she scowled at him, and stood up, waving her skirt down with her hands.
"Im so excited. Why exactly are you doing this?"
"Because you need friends, my dear Cal-Pal. I will not let you go friendless all seven years. Being me, James Potter, I have decided to take it upon myself to be your friend." She stared at him blankly.
"Whatever. Please don't call me Cal-Pal." She turned to head to breakfast, and her newly found 'friend' followed her down, questions all the way to the great hall.
