Marriage

Hiro's POV

Leaving the academy gates for the last time, since last year, I gazed upon the school which had taught me so much about life; and taught me about love. From behind me, I heard everyone joking around as we left the school gates for the last time.

Ichigo: "It seems like we just got here..." Ichigo sighed, looking at the grey buildings of the school.

Hiro: "Yeah..." I replied, staring at my old room window.

Ichigo: "I'm happy for you and Zero Two..." Ichigo hesitated, placing her shaking hand in her chest.

Hiro: "Listen I know-" I started before she held her hand up defiantly.

Ichigo: "Don't worry about it, I have Goro now remember? The past is the past, I'm just glad we can still be friends." Ichigo explained, smiling at the sky.

Hiro: "Yeah..." I sighed, smiling at the group.

Sauntering over to me, Zero Two wrapped her hands around my back. Laughing a little, Ichigo walked off to the rest of the gang as I was left at the mercy of Zero Two. Smiling at me, she started to kiss my neck.

Hiro: "Ah-" I started.

Zero Two: "We've just got to finish college...then we can get married..." Zero Two sighed.

Hiro: "Yeah..." I agreed, grasping Zero Two's hand.

That day, I made a vow to myself. I would never leave Zero Two alone, I'd always be her rock to lean on. I kept to that vow all throughout college as we entered different colleges, and earned our degrees in our respective fields. Every day, I would call Zero Two to ask how she was and to check up on her.

Zero Two: "Only one more day until our graduation Darling!" Zero Two exclaimed, over phones

Hiro: "Yep! Just one more day until I can finally make you mine..." I admitted, teasing her a little.

Zero Two: "Yeah..." she sighed, I could hear her stretching a little.

Those calls were what kept me going throughout the slog that was college, and on the fateful day of our meeting, we set our wedding date after our graduation.

Hiro: "April 3rd" I exclaimed.

Zero Two: "The day we met each other again, the cherry blossoms will be in bloom you know." Zero Two informed me, swirling around her drink at the café which I had met her mother. "Let's have an outside wedding!" She exclaimed, grabbing the onlookers attention, who smiled at us.

Hiro: "Are you sure? Zorome has allergies you know" I teased, drinking out of my coffee.

Zero Two gave me a smile as we both got up to tell everyone the news. We arrived at the home to see the whole gang at my house.

Hiro: "This is a crowd..." I muttered, taken aback slightly.

Everyone: "Welcome back!" They all exclaimed in unison.

Zero Two: "They were waiting for us?" Zero Two asked.

Hiro: "Well, let's just tell them now then." I advised.

As we told them the date that we set upon for our wedding, we all split off into our respective groups as we planned the great venture. Deciding in tuxedos and dresses took the longest. When we finally decided on the attire we would wear, we discovered that; it was the same thing we wore for our school dance. I chuckled as I remembered the good times we had.

The wedding day came faster than everyone thought, and almost like lighting, I was stood on the altar gazing upon a beautiful Zero Two walking down the aisle. Goro put his hand on me and smiled as she drew closer and closer; I smiled sheepishly as she appeared in front of me.

Zero Two: "The day finally came..." she sighed, putting her hand on her chest.

Hiro: "Yeah..." I agreed, preparing myself.

As the priest read our vows, I reflected on everything that happened in between our time at the academy to now. All the good memories, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful.

Priest: "Do you, Zero Two; take Hiro as your lawfully wedded husband?" The priest concluded.

Zero Two: "I do..." she replied, tears streaming down her face.

Priest: "And do you, Hiro, take Zero Two as your lawfully wedded wife?" The priest then continued.

Hiro: "I do..." I replied, tears behind to form in my eyes.

Priest: "You may now kiss the bride..." The priest smiled, as we approached each other.

Wrapping her arms around my neck, I was reminded of the time where we danced, engulfed by the light of fireflies. As we kissed, there were cheers and leaps of joy.

Zero Two: "I love you so much, Darling!" Zero Two then exclaimed.

Hiro: "I love you too Zero Two! Until the end of time!" I replied, hugging her.

The days past, as we got our own home, and began living our life together, almost like they were water droplets falling from the clouds. A year later, Zero Two called me into our room; with tears in her eyes.

Hiro: "what's wrong darling?" I asked, holding her hands.

Showing me a small stick, I red a small plus on the little screen. She was pregnant.

Zero Two: "I-I'm...pregnant!" Zero Two exclaimed, tears streaming down her face.

I took a step back, taking it in; then I could feel tears clouding my vision. I was going to be a father.

Hiro: "Darling...!" I exclaimed, unable to force out any words.

We hugged each other as tears fell down our face. We called over everyone the afterwards to break the news.

Mamma: "So what did you need from ALL of us, Iota?" Zero Two's mother asked.

Zero Two: "Mamma...everyone, we have an announcement to make." Zero Two started.

Hiro: "We're..." I added, grasping her hands.

Hiro & Zero Two: "Pregnant!" We announced.

There was a brief silence, then there was an uproar of cheers. I was almost tackled by Futoshi, Goro, Mitsuru, and Zorome; as they found out. The ladies of the group all flocked to Zero Two to ask standard baby questions. Looking at each other, we smiled; and mouthed a few words.

Hiro & Zero Two: "I love you...until the end of time."
