It had been two days since I'd been officially taken in by the Black Army. Two days ago, I met the Red Army as well as Blanc and Oliver, and came to learn that in order to get back to my world (the Land of Reason), I had to remain here in this world for 30 days. Having mulled the events over, I swore I would do what needed to be done to get back to my regular life, with my job and my home.
Now, on this sunny afternoon in Cradle, I was washing dishes and looking out the window of the kitchen while Sirius ran scrimmages for the troops. The entire lot of them were out in the courtyard, paired up and sparring with their swords. I could see Seth and Luka duking it out, and Fenrir running around laughing happily with a gun in each hand while Sirius barked orders at him.
I grinned as I watched, my hands drying plate after plate in a somewhat autonomous motion. For being an army on the brink of war, they all seemed so happy and carefree. It was refreshing to watch. And compared to the attitudes of the Red Army, I was happy I was taken in by the less stressed of the two opponents. Being in a strange world was enough to deal with currently.
I tore my eyes from watching the Army and looked down to determine my progress on my chore; I only had maybe two plates and a few pieces of cutlery left. I felt some pride in knowing I was helping the Black Army with their duties. It was nice to know I could keep myself busy while I waited for the end of the month to approach.
Suddenly, I heard the castle doors open and looked up through the window. The Army was breaking for lunch. The large group of them all sauntered inside and headed to the lunch hall, where food would be served thanks to Sirius, Luka and their band of Army chefs.
"Kelly!🖤"
Out of the mix of chatter from the group as they came in, I heard a muffled, sing song voice call my name through the kitchen door and down the hall. I paused. Wait a minute..."Oh Kelllyyyy~~!"
I heard the voice again and this time I knew it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me. I turned away from the sink just as a familiar blue haired man with a ponytail walked happily into the kitchen, the door closing behind him.
"Ah! I thought you were here my darling. It's time!"
Seth chirped happily as he clapped his hands then rubbed his palms together in what seemed like excited anticipation.
"What are you talking about Seth? Time for what?" I curiously questioned back, drying my last dish and placing it to sit on the drying rack.
"Why, it's your party tonight ofcourse! We have to start getting ready." He chimed back to me and stepped forward to take my hands in his.
I hesitated.
"Party? What do you mean, party?"
Seth blinked in surprise.
"Ray didn't tell you? You are the newest member of the Black Army, so we requested a feast in your honour." He broke out into another bright grin and his eyes seemed to sparkle.
I paused as my face began to light up bashfully.
"A feast?" I squeaked.
"Ofcourse! And the guest of honour must attend and wear a fabulous gown for the event! Which is why I'm here." Seth beamed at me.
"Please let me help you with your outfit Alice! It would be such an honour!" The man then squeezed my hands together in his and focused his eyes on mine; his gaze willing me to accept.
I felt so shy knowing my new friends were holding a gala in my honour that I didn't even begin to know what to say. I looked down nervously, then back to Seth as he squeezed my hands. His gaze was so profound, i knew I had no choice but to accept.
