So everyone knows this

It's an unsaid rule but all your characters gotta be attractive, or at least somewhat pretty

Cuz why not?

They all gotta be lookin like some models

Which is stupid, because most of the MCs here are 16,17,18 and they should be battling acne right now, ok

A full on war

But no, she has to have perfect soft smooth skin, like no!

Ok I'm 13 and I don't personally have to deal with acne as much as others do but I have dry and sensitive skin, so I have dark dry patches on my face, and my skin is constantly ashy and itchy, which I hate!

It's just unrealistic and throws me off when I see it:

I looked to the mirror to confront my soft lips, and big, blue, green, purple eyes etc..., I had perfect eyebrows, and long eyelashes that didn't need mascara to look gorgeous, I touched my soft, smooth, pale skin, that flowed all the time, and looked super healthy even though I don't even have a skin care routine!

Weird right?

Yah weird it is.

It's even worse when she complains about the skin she has, like if you don't like it sell it or something

And this isn't even just to wattpad, it's all books, traditionally published to self published

Can't we have a normal looking main character, one that's just average looking but has a great personality and is 100000000000....x better than the MCs we have here?

The cast thing we have on wattpad doesn't help either

It's helpful to some level, but really not

It lets you cast or MCs who are 16/17/18 to look like Hollywood stars

Like...👎

Idk, I know attractive people are seen as bettter so whatever, and if you want to write your characters as attractive people then idc do it because I knew I couldn't stop u anyways.
