Avoiding Celeste and having to go on not one but two attacks was becoming a difficulty for Elliot. Not only because he did not want to kill anyone but because he wanted to spend as much time possible with Celeste. And, given the fact that she was chained, he could think of various interesting ways to have fun during that time.

Karamat loved the thought of her chained-self in the cavern. The wolf even played a lot of fantasies in his head while Elliot slept which had a huge impact on him in the mornings.

Malcolm was behaving properly with him, for a change, and Elliot had been able to sow some more seeds of distrust in the vampire's heart leading to a reduction in the number of vampires. This made him keep Elliot closer now which could only mean one of two things. Either he trusted only Elliot or he did not trust him at all.

Either way, it did not have any effect on Elliot as he had known it right from the beginning that he was going to be sailing on a sinking ship. Moreover, he had to betray the vampires one day or the other - it was only a matter of 'when'. But before he went down with the ship, he was going to weaken Malcolm's hold and take him down with him.

The killings were overpowering Elliot's need of being good though. His wolf revelled in any display of strength from his human and always urged him to kill more - it loved a gory end of the enemy, even though the wolves were anything but.

A lesser-vampire approached him.

"You have been summoned," it said and bowed its head a little.

Elliot regarded the vampire carefully, "lead the way," he said as a plan took form in his head.

Once there, Elliot didn't give Malcolm a chance to speak, "I am revered, Malcolm, with the respect all the vampires are showing me. It's good to be bowed to when even my damn pack won't do that." He smiled as gratefully as he could and grinned a little more on seeing the vampire's anger rise.

Elliot had to stop himself from laughing as he pictured fumes coming out of Malcolm's ears and nostrils. To add more to the fury, Elliot looked at the vampire who had guided him to Malcolm and thanked him.

He knew what was coming even before it happened.

In the blink of an eye, the vampire was on the floor - in a heap of its own ashes.

Elliot rejoiced, 'I have now found out which buttons to press to toy with you, Malcolm. Be careful, for I won't go down without taking you out before.'

On her friend's eighteenth, Tyra was missing Celeste badly. She knew that Celeste had a commitment towards her father and she was doing all she could to change his predicament but Tyra was worried for her as she had a knack of getting caught in weirdest of the circumstances.

She thought of sharing her feelings with Dominic to ease her mind. As the three had been friends since birth, she was sure that Dominic might be missing her too.

Tyra found Dominic in the pack's training room. She had gotten wind of danger, the vampires getting stronger and killing their kind, so Dominic had been busy training all the wolves - be it old, young, male or female.

He was talking animatedly to an older wolf and then instructed him on a round-house kick when he saw Tyra at the entrance. He grinned widely on seeing his friend after a long time.

"Finally, the girl has time for someone other than her mate," he teased her and got punched in the stomach.

Fake-wincing, he asked her of the reason for being there and then stopped, "You..." his eyes zeroed in on her stomach, "you're expecting."
