While Celeste was confident, her head held high, chin up and shoulders squared, her mate Elliot remained fidgeting by her side until they reached the doors of the throne room. Weary of his nervousness, Celeste turned to him. She was completely aware that despite there being no one in the corridor, ears were on them. So, rather than use words, she conveyed her support by squeezing Elliot's muscled arm. A rush of emotions surged through her, difficult to decipher whom they belonged to - him or her.

Elliot's eyes brightened up, so did his entire being. Nodding, he pried her hand away from his arm and instead, intertwined his fingers with hers. This little exchange meant more than the universe for him, even if Celeste was only carrying it out to irate his mom, he was elated nonetheless. His mate was with him.

Together, they stepped inside the throne room.

The Alpha and the Luna were waiting for them inside with no other person in view. Alpha Xavier was a picture of poise and power put together while Luna Greta, a beautiful but deadly creature of the moon, fuming in vexation.

Greta's hawk-like eyes zeroed in on their hands. Elliot turned his gaze away from his mother to notice that Xavier's eyes were, too, fixated on the little distance between them and their hands. For a moment, Elliot was back to being the little boy of ten years. Back in his father's study where he was being scolded for the first-ever detention that he had received.

Being grounded, he thought, would trump this scrutiny any day.

Celeste caught on to the direction of his thoughts. As soon as Elliot was about to pull his hand away, Celeste tightened her grip on his. Elliot squeezed back, releasing a puff of air."Father, we were summoned. Is anything the matter?"

His voice booming, and echoing through the room, Xavier spoke, "I have come across a piece of rather fascinating information, son." He stepped down the stairs, reaching his son in merely four strides and engulfing him in a bear hug. The relief that followed had Elliot sagging in his father's arms. He hugged back tightly.

"Thank you so much, Dad," he whispered the next part, despite knowing everyone in the room could hear it, "your approval means the world to me."

Xavier pulled back, "and why pray tell, would I not approve of this match forged by Angel Qaphsiel himself?"

The Alpha looked at his wife, "this news calls for a celebration. Something no one has witnessed before." Gazing fondly at the newfound mates, he smiled warmly.

"Greta tells me you had been discussing it already. Let's go through it, shall we?"

Elliot was at a loss for words once again, but same as before, Celeste steered the conversation in a manner to save her mate's behind.

"Honorable Alpha, we believe that breaking the news calls for a feast for the entirety of the pack - inclusive of part-vampires as well. It'll only be fair to treat them unlike how Ben used to," she smiled at Xavier.

"Isn't she just perfect, Greta?" Xavier beamed at her wife. The woman just nodded, coming to stand by Xavier.
