Never Again

Chapter 6 - New York City

It was 3:30 am Friday morning when they arrived in New York. Ethan was waiting at the Airport for them. He didn't want them taking a cab at that hour in the morning. And he was excited about seeing Bianka and nervous about seeing Annika. A part of him hoped that seeing him would change her mind. Alayna was not with him and all he could think about was Annika. He had been trying almost a year to get her out of his mind. He cared about Alayna but there was no spark, no connection and no desire to take things to the next level. They had been dating almost a year and he was nowhere near the commitment phase. When they came through the gate he smiled. Bianka saw him first and she ran to him and he hugged her tightly. She felt like she wanted to cry but she didn't. Annika and Carisa caught up with them and he hugged Carisa and kissed her on the cheek and then he turned to do the same to Annika, but she took a step back and looked around with an attitude.

"Is your girl here? I don't want to do anything that might put you in an awkward position again"

He looked at her and he paused. Bianka and Carisa looked at each other and Bianka pulled Carisa ahead...Carisa said... "I guess she is still upset"

"You just know noticed" asked Bianka

Ethan hesitated and then he extended his hand and said, "I guess this is more appropriate...I see that you still have a fonky attitude...I thought we were passed that."

She shook his hand and he turned and walked towards Bianka before she could respond. He came up behind her and Carisa and he put his arm around Bianka and put his head down. She looked back at Annika and then up at Ethan..."Is everything ok?" she asked

"I thought it was...but I guess not...but don't worry about it...how are you doing?" he asked with a fake smile as they headed to luggage area.

"I'm fine...I'm excited to be in New York again" she said

"Great you are going to have a great time this weekend. I heard that you had a difficult time with the lawyer and all I could think about is getting you away for a couple of days. You are staying with me...no questions asked. We have a lot of catching up to do"

"ok E"

They grabbed their bags and he led them to his limo.

"Who's limo" asked Bianka

"It's the Amare's limo...it came with my new position. I have my own personal driver. I can use it whenever I want to. He turned to Annika, you are welcomed to stay at my place if you want to."

Bianka was surprised. She noticed that their brief encounter did not go so good. She was still trying to figure out what was really going on.

"Thanks, but Carisa has asked me to stay with her"

Before she could get it out good, Carisa said "I didn't"...Annika shoved her..."oh...yes Nika is staying with me."

They all got in the Limo and Ethan gave the driver directions to Carisa's place. When they arrived, Bianka was impressed. Carisa had upgraded since the last time she was in New York.

"NY Regional Healthcare is paying you good I see. This is nice Carisa." Said Bianka.

Carisa smiled..."Yes they are paying me quite well and you know how my dad is...he didn't like the last place that I was staying in. He actually bought the condo for me when I was promoted to charge nurse."

Oh...ok...that is really great Carisa"

"Yes...I'm working my way up to Head Nurse." Said Carisa

"I guess your daddy will buy you a penthouse then Carisa" said Annika

"I wish" said Carisa

Carisa and Annika got out and headed into her condo.

"I will call you tomorrow Annika...well it is tomorrow...I will call you around noon...well when I wake up." Said Bianka
