Song- Piece By Piece

The third time Draco visited Harry, Petunia was starting to give him strange looks.

"I don't think your aunt likes me," he laughed softly as him and Harry walked.

"She doesn't understand why you keep coming over." Harry paused. "Neither do, I, to be honest."

"You're the only person who will be real with me anymore, besides Pansy and Blaire. And they keep disappearing lately. They doesn't talk to me as much."

Harry laughed softly. "Think they're making out in broom closets?"

Draco snorted. "Not a chance. Blaire is straight."

Harry raised an eyebrow, and only then did Draco realize what he hadn't said.

"You said Blaire is straight," Harry whispered. "You didn't say anything about Persephone."

Draco shrugged, attempting to pass it off. "That's a given. She's gonna marry me."

Harry didn't look convinced at all. "You've already said you two don't love each other. Does... Does Persephone like girls?"

Draco tensed, feeling his whole body go tight. "No."

"Draconis, you can trust me. I know we haven't known each other long, but I swear it. I will never speak a word of this conversation to anyone."

"That's the first time you've ever said my name," Draco murmured.

Silence. Then "I apologize, Your Highness. I forgot my place."

"Call me Draco."

"What?"

"Draco. It's what my friends call me."

"Is that what we are? Friends?"

"Well, I don't take nighttime walks with enemies."

Soft laughter. "Point. Draco."

Draco suppressed a shiver at the sound of his name rolling off the boy's tongue. God, he was fucked.

"You never answered my question."

"Yes. Pansy likes girls."

"Do you?"

Draco's head whipped up so fast, he swore he almost snapped his neck. "What?"

"Do you like girls?"

"Of course I like girls, don't be ridiculous," he laughed, trying to cover the empty hole that was suddenly in his heart.

Harry nodded quietly, staring out at the lake they had suddenly found themselves in front of.

"I have to go," Draco said, unable to be around the boy anymore in case the horrendously romantic thoughts in his head escaped. "Meet me here tomorrow? Same time?"

Harry laughed softly. "Same time? It's nearly midnight."

"Problem?"

"Of course not, Your Highness," Harry mocked, fake bowing. Draco laughed, lightly hitting his shoulder.

"Shut up. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Tomorrow," Harry agreed, his eyes fixed on Draco as he walked away.
