"Oh my god, remember professor Cala?"

"Yes! She was so fucking irritating, I swear to god she was the devil."
Thomas agreed with a loud laugh as his company.
"I couldn't agree more. She was just like professor kelly."

"He was a creep though, I'm pretty sure he had eyes for kaya."

Dylan let out a low sputtering laugh at how valid that statement was, grinning at the sound and look on his friends face.
Felt nice to have a friend. Especially when it felt like it was always this way. Wich it was. Just forgotten in the storm.

"Ugh, I hated college. I feel like it was the wrong choice."

"Should have dropped out."

"And waste my mums' money? No way."
He had a way of speaking, an elegant way of forming words with that foreign accent Thomas actually had always soothed Dylans mind

"Alas, I don't need to drop out. Because it been burned down."

Dylan laughed at this again.

But this time, it was off as the remembrances flooded back. The memory of chuck being torn apart right in front of him, and his curdling screams as he was dragged down the hall.

__
"Remember the mess hall?"

"That awful place?"

"I remember the lunch ladies. They where sweethearts"

This time, Thomas was the one to laugh, nodding at the retention of Dylan getting free or extra food just because he was favourited.
"Jaden was always so jealous."

"He'd only spent one year there. Makes sense."

They deteriorated into silence as they both seemed to remember how Judith died in front of them, screaming at the two to run. In this new world, they ceased to notice how serious things got so quickly. From light to heavy.

"I remember being there with you when Judith died."
The britt swallowed, his eyes squinting, prickling with tears.

"Yeah... It was horrible. I tried, I really tried helping her Thom-"

"I know. I saw. I saw you stab the thing but... She was gone."

Dylan nodded, not letting himself get crushed. Just a little frustrated that he couldn't save her.
"Yeah... Yeah! I remember you pulling me out."

"We used to study together, Dylan! Has the breakout made you forget our friendship?"

_

"I missed being friends."
Dylan let this out, and he'd apprehended he needed someone. Just someone to restrain him from succumbing to the loss of his sanity. He'd lost a lot, and... He couldn't lose much more. So, Thomas really satisfied his only sense of happiness and feeling. He filled Thomas with a lot of hope and glee, yet Dylan didn't realize that Thomas had always done that for him. Thomas was different than any other person. Dylan would do a lot to protect Thomas, he was still holding on to that friendship they had.

"Yeah? As do i. It is weird to think that just because Rachel didn't like you, I had to stop hanging with you."
He said it low, and it sounded kind of frustrated. Maybe a bit regretful

"It's okay, she was an okay girl. I did my best to save her, I tried really hard to keep her safe. She just wanted aris, and I'm pretty sure they're together somewhere. I'd like to think they're together somewhere."

Thomas retorted on Dylan had become quite the believer. Dylan wanted to say he'd only said it for Thomas because he had but... That was weird.

The brunette thought of how they'll NEVER be able to go on those walks together, try those weird ice cream flavours, decorate their houses like the planned together. Never do anything they wanted.

"Sometimes, I wonder if your mums okay."

"She is."
The britt boy said, holding up his phone with less than 40% left. He told Dylan they should hurry and get to the north compound, because what if there was a charger. That made Dylan laugh, but he also looked bewildered because...
"Anyone could have that."

The britt nodded, and he shrugged. His lips pulled down into a tight frown, and Dylan knew that face. That face, ugh. He was about to cry. He could already see it in his bottom lip as it quivered, and whispered
"I like to be a believer too, Dylan."

"Okay."
the brunette said calmly, ruffling Thomas's hair, and putting up the windows.
"It's good to believe."
