Dylan and Thomas were out on a date. A very pleasant date, may I add. And they were both relishing it very much. It is not like the north compound was the most entertaining place, but... With each other, it was so much better. It gave them nostalgia of their older days. The days when their parents(well... Thomas's parents) finally let them have the sovereignty of their own and go out by themselves.

They'd always meet up at a Cuban cafe they admired and enjoyed hearing the barista greet them with his opaque accent.
That was rosa's uncle, by the way. And they'd always end up sitting with ki, rosa, Alby, and of course kaya. She was Dylan's sister after all.

But now... It was just them. Just them to savour their drinks,

By themselves, for a whole day, with each other's company... and Just for a minute did they believe each other was all they needed.

They were at the segment of the date where they just roamed around, laughing at nothing, getting ready for the night shift. They were in front of a bar, joking around about the unfunny dad jokes Jorge would make, and they realized how much those jokes reshaped their lives for conversation starters.

The bar was scarcely bustling with life, and they could see ben wiping down the glass counter, ki on his tail. Ki was buckling on his knife belt loop, laughing at maybe some dumb joke ben made.

The rest of the place was bursting with laughter and life though, but weirdly enough, some odd silence; The watches beeping, and people heading to their houses for curfew.

The paradise that contained these people from the outside world was Going silent for the night, ready to be open to the night shifters.

They had an important job of watching for over curfew people, standing watch in guard towers, and ambushing the threatening skin eaters. About all of them.

Thus Thomas thought to enjoy the date, just because. Just because you never know what could happen.

"Are you ready for curfew?"
Dylan inquired, rubbing Thomas's shoulder with a kind look in his eye, and Thomas had no choice but to say yes. though truthfully, he wasn't. But he had to earn his keep, therefore he pushed away his nerves to seem strong for Dylan.
"Remember, if you need help- channel 8."

"Yes, yes."

"Alright."

One last nod, before he started climbing up the rickety ladder,

"Hey, and..."
Dylan turned his head to speak to Thomas
"If you wanna talk... Channel 2 is clear."

"but Dylan- promise to take things slow... like, between us?"

he couldn't help but nod.
