This note will be covering the future of this book, as well as something I will need your, the reader's, opinion on. Though I may talk a bit, I hope you'll take the time to read through, or even just enough to understand my gist is fine.
We've finally passed the first arc! Thank you all for following the book up until now! It's been a bumpy ride with many unexpected hiatuses, but I'm very happy that such a milestone has been reached.
While it may not seem big, this book has already passed the length and substance of my first rendition of this book. For me, this is a huge thing so I'm feeling really giddy over this. I've been itching to reveal the plan to separate the story into arcs for a long time. Now that the first one is done, I feel like I can finally speak as an author to you guys.
If you don't know, I'm a full-time student. So, I'm constantly given assignments left and right with only a week or two to complete them. A week may seem like a lot of time, but my program is very hands on and the time frame isn't really much at all. Also, this was my first year of post-secondary, so it's been a long battle for time management. But fear not! School also ends earlier than it did from high school, meaning I'll have five months of summer vacation (yay me)!!! Hopefully, that means I'll have more time to work on this book when I'm not working.
And no, this book will not be dropped, if any of you were worried about that. This story still means a lot to me, like I said in my previous author's note. However, I do hope that the arcs serve as satisfying cliffhangers (?) If that makes any sense. Like, you can read through the end of any arc and, despite knowing the characters lives are still going on, you can feel a little satisfaction. You know, as if the story had enough for you to draw your own conclusion. An open ending, if you will.
That's just to curb your suspense, of course. This book will be finished, and it will have a lot more sweet, lovey-dovey moments with your favourite cannibal! Truth be told, I was worried if I was being too forceful with how I portrayed him. To me, EJ always seemed to be the taciturn and aloof type, though not as much Slenderman the freezing ice block himself. He's a serious and smart character who is diligent in what he does. He doesn't see many things as important, but what (or who) is important to him he treats very specially. Quick-witted and quick-tongued, he's sure to catch you off guard! Hopefully, the self-hatred part of his character development didn't come off too whiny.
And how about our 'reader'? She's got quite the personality, don't you think? Somebody told me she's got too much going on for her to be able to represent the reader. "If you give her too much character, the reader can't put themselves in her shoes," that kind of feeling. Which I can understand, but I don't think it's too much of a stretch for somebody to suspend their beliefs and pretend they're a good cook, love kids, are docile, and are so innocent that it hurts. It's fun when [Y/N] isn't bland, in my opinion. If you don't think so, I hope you can still find something in the book you can enjoy.
(But I may be planning a different story with a [Y/N] with a more aggressive personality. That's for the future though so, don't think about it too much.)
By the way, the main part of this story has only two arcs left. Hopefully these titles can give a little bit of a hint for what is to come. ("Main part"? What suspicious wording~)

Not a lot of info, huh? Well, then, I dare warn you that there will be an R-18 chapter within one of these arcs. It will be noted on the chapter name, but heed my warning and proceed with caution. This book isn't rated Mature for nothing.
That's part one of this announcement. Next is one I've been hesitant to do, but seeing how many of you have been following this book diligently despite its slow updates, it's the least I could do to show my gratitude.
The story is going to get illustrations!
I didn't think it mattered much but making this decision now, I guess I should reveal that the cover for this book was drawn by me. I'm actually an animation student. That's not to brag or anything, but I'm just saying I don't mind drawing out a few of your favourite scenes from the book if you have any. Please note though, they'll probably be black and white like comic pages, and I'll only be doing three for the first arc. That's why I ask:
Tell me your favourite scene from the first arc that you'd like to see drawn out. The three scenes that seem to resonate the most will be chosen to become illustrations.
